door Dion Lauffer Met exact 1 afzegging (netjes Rovian) op zak, ging het veteranenteam van Willemstad, beter bekend als Willemstad-3, vol goede moed richting Jandoret. De wedstrijd zou plaatsvinden op het prachtige veld Maracana, het onderkomen van de Koning en ook onze collegas van Domi Friends. Wat was het een grote verrassing toen we met alleen maar acht man op het veld stonden. Tijdens het spoedberaad voor de wedstrijd hebben we trouwens besloten om een IT-expert in te roepen, om naar ons email systeem te kijken. Waarschijnlijk zit het problNet voor het fluitsignaal was een negende speler erbij gekomen. Hopi dushi is dat hoor, met negen man tegen de subkampioen van vorig seizoen. Na een paar minuten was een van de echte Die hards er ook bij gekomen. Het is onze Amador gelukt om bij een politie-onderzoek of zo weg te lopen om te komen voetballen. (Die weet dus wel waar de prioriteiten horen te liggen. red: aangenomen mag worden dat Amador zelf geen onderwerp van het politie-onderzoek was!) De eerste helft eindigde met een 0-0 stand. Nou zegt dat eigenlijk niet zoveel, want in de eerste wedstrijd van het seizoen was het bij rust ook 0-0. Het probl-

eem was toen dat we na de hervatting er vier om onze oren kregen. We wisten zeker dat dat nu niet zou gebeuren. Die illusie werd heel snel om zeep geholpen door een k#!@t-corner die zomaar bij de tweee paal in de kruising belandde. Onze Denden kreeg daarna de gelijkmaker op de voeten, maar de hele slechte keeper van de tegenstander besloot om zijn beste actie van zijn carriere te maken en blokkeerde zijn inzet. Ver-

volgens stapte de verdediging van W3 vooruit tijdens een aanval van de tegenstander, om het buitenspelval in werking te zetten. Er werd hierbij geen rekening gehouden met onze linkshalf, die besloot om een tegenstander gezelschap te gaan houden bij de cornervlag. 2 - 0. Trouwens, Daal heeft ook meegedaan. Andrew bepaalde daarna de eindstand met een mooi schot, 2- 1.

De Sterren had one more goal in them and by the time they scored it the score read 5-3 Willemstad 2. Halfway through the second half fatigue started kicking in and we took advantage of that. The midfield and attackers were playing as if they had ear pieces and communicated with each other. It was a real beauty to see this from the sidelines. As a coach you cannot feel any better. Everything you practiced that week comes to life in a match. By the time the final whistle went off it was 10 - 3 Willemstad 2. A lot of people will give the argument that De Sterren were not a complete team but such matches is what gives your team confidence and I surely hope we can continue this goal tally through out the year. The goals scored came from Magic Mike - 4 , Andrew - 3, Derryl - 1, Reggie - 1, Charan - 1. And so the boys got their first win of the season. See you next week.

At 20.15hrs the referee blew his whistle and our boys were on the field ready for kick-off. The opposing team however was not. They only had eight players and so the match started. We had more in numbers but that meant nothing. In the first two minutes De Sterren kicked a ball deep and just like that it was a one on one with our Benjamin Casillas and we were down 1-0. The advantage we had in numbers seemed to mean nothing. De Sterren were jus playing with us as slowly their players were arriving. By the time they were eleven players we were down 2-1. After a lot of yelling from the sidelines and with two complete teams the boys of Willemstad 2 started to move like a team. And so the Goal storm started. By half time we were winning 4-2. I will not be mentioning all the goals because it will take up all my space hehe. At halftime I told the team that it doesnt matter that we were ahead because victory is never a guarantee. I asked the team

U13B HOUDT UITZICHT OP FINALE

Ondanks 2-0 verlies tegen SUBT
Door M. van der Gulik Het was dat er na de onze een wedstrijd was uitgevallen, want anders had de U13B niet gespeeld tegen SUBT. De tegenstander kwam namelijk naar goed lokaal gebruik pas nadat de scheidsrechter had afgefloten aanwandelen. Doordat er ruimte was in het schema kon er toch gespeeld worden. Voor de wedstrijd meldden zich achttien man. Gelukkig mag onbeperkt gewisseld worden. Met zeven wissels kost het niettemin fors denkwerk om het team de hele wedstrijd enigszins draaiende te houden. Wat daarbij niet helpt is dat sommige spelers zich pas meldden nadat de wedstrijdbespreking was gedaan. De U13B begon minder scherp aan wat al weer de derde ontmoeting met SUBT van dit seizoen is. Dat kan te maken hebben gehad met het uitgestelde aanvangstijdstip. Misschien had Willemstad een mindere dag. Maar in elk geval speelde de tegenstander beter dan de laatste keer. In de eerste helft had SUBT een overwicht, maar klaarde de U13B de klus betrekkelijk eenvoudig door een goede organisatie. Dat is op dit moment toch de kracht van dit team. Willemstad kreeg via snelle uitvallen grote kansen. Linksbuiten Austin was door zijn snelhied voor de SUBTdefensie een ware plaag. In de spits loerde Albert op zijn kans. Hij was ook dicht bij de openingstreffer. Zijn verwoestende uithaal spatte helaas uiteen op de lat. Een klein beetje beter mikken, tien centimeter om precies te zijn. Na rust werd er driftig gewisseld. Dit kwam het spel niet ten goede. In balbezit kwam het accent nog meer op de counter te liggen. Eenmaal was Albert dicht bij een goal. Hij speelde de bal evenwel net te ver voor zich uit. De goalie van SUBT kon daardoor redding brengen door onze spits te vloeren. Aan de andere kant hield onze defensie behoorlijk stand. De situatie werd evenwel steeds penibeler. SUBT scoorde uit een afstandschot en profiteerde van een serie missers van onze moegestreden gladiatoren. Al met al heeft SUBT terecht gewonnen. Binnenkort kunnen we hopelijk revanche nemen, namelijk in de finale van het toernooi. Dan moet evenwel zaterdag eerst nog worden afgerekend met Excellence B.
