5c need and are doing their share, but a
concerted effort is needed, and whilst "Soccer House" remains aloft and aloof progress will be slow. One bright example is the late issue of the Year Book. You couldn't say that its availability three weeks after the season started is a very good effort. Also the passport identity card system which was going to be in operation for the start of the season is still six weeks away. Space in this publication is open to anyone with ideas and news items which will interest the soccer public. I suggest to the management they smarten their ideas up, and give some thought to the people who keep the game going, you the paying public. ALEX BARR SAYSCO-OPERATION MEANS SO MUCH I am happy to say that to date the
co-operation I have received from visiting clubs has been first class. This enables me to produce the "Olympic Park Record" for your pleasure and information, and I am gratified at the way you, the public, have accepted the Olympic Park Clubs' attempt to provide this service. There have been a few mistakes but in the main "The Record" has given 95% accuracy regarding teams. The sponsors who make this publication possible have been most helpful and I thank them sincerely for their support. It was my hope that we would be able to furnish more information from the official level. However, it would be safe to say that more information leaks out of the Kremlin than from Soccer House. Activities, if any, are shrouded in mystery more suited to a secret service organisation. Quite a considerable sum of money is spent weekly on newspaper advertisements some of which don't even tell the proper story, but the whole crux of promotion for soccer is completely forgotten. The public are kept
in the dark as to what is happening, and the minor leagues, the members

of which are all potential Leagues, ~re left for ~e~d.

Van Egmond is in rare form guarding Ringwood's goal and he will be a stumbling block. However, without being one-eyed I think Alexander can win on sheer team spirit and enthusiasm.

HAVE JUVENTUS OVERCOME EARLY SLUMP? By ALEX BARR Juventus appear to have overcome
its early-season slUmp, but the question is can they pet;letrate the tightest defence in the State League. I feel luck will be the deciding factor and on last week's game against Ringwood City Slavia's luck has deserted them. Slavia's record of repeatedly attacking for 80% of a match, then either scraping in by one goal or drawing, is incredible. Strikes me the coach should concentrate on shooting practice. The talent is there, but goal-shy forwards are a liability in any team.

Despite their dismal start Juventus

has undoubted talent; Australian' internatioriatMcColl; e*"Melbourne~tar Connolly, Norman and Millar. Given one inch I think these players can win for Juventus, always provided they can rattleSlavia'sbackline. The home club has the record on the board and is anxious to remain with the top.,btacket sides. This will be a severe lest which will show whetj'ier Slavia's forwards can get on target or not. If not there are certain to be some heads rolling.

CLUB CORNER
SLAVIA
Slavia officials are baffled. Week after week the team constantly hammers the opposition yet the goals don't come. Sure, the team hasn't been beaten h~ving o~e win a~d two draws to their credit. What s the answer? The answer could be a permanent berth for Bill Savage.. He isn~ the most elegant player In t~e sq,!ad, but he can be very effective given time to settle in. I know it isn't this column's job to pick the team, but some constructive advice might ring a bell in the right corner. 01 . ymplc P ark c1 u bs congra t u 1 at e Ringwood City on reaching their fifteenth birthday.
