Sunshine Challenge 2014 Artistic Competition

15th-16th January 2014 IceworldTM Boondall Olympic Ice Rink 2304 Sandgate Road Brisbane Qld 4034 (Ice Surface 60m x 30m)

Organising Body: Boondall Figure Ice Skating Club Inc., affiliated to Ice Skating Queensland Inc. Description: This is an insterstate artistic competition. Venue: IceworldTM Boondall Olympic Ice Rink, 2304 Sandgate Road, Boondall, Qld 4034. Ice surface: The dimensions of the ice surface are 60m x 30m. Divisions: Singles and Groups (up to four skaters), Men and Ladies: Aussie Skate Free Skate 1, Aussie Skate Free Skate 2, Aussie Skate Free Skate 3, Aussie Skate Free Skate 4, Preliminary, Elementary, Pre-Primary, Primary, Intermediate, Novice, Junior, Senior, Adults. Divisions may be grouped depending on number of entries. When a group consists of skaters of different level, then the division corresponds to the highest level in the group (e.g. a group consisting of two skaters in preliminary and two skaters in pre-primary will compete in the preliminary division). Official Practice Tentative Times: 15th January 6:30 8:30am, 16th January 6:30 8:30am. Draw: Draw for start order will take place IceworldTM Olympic Ice Rink on January 7th 2014 at 6 pm. Entries: open November 15th and close December 16th, 5 pm Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Competition Convenors and may incur a financial penalty equivalent to double the entry fee. All entries from interstate skaters must be received through the relevant State/Territory Association. Entries from Queensland must be submitted directly to Competition Convenors. Entries can be submitted: - by e-mail at bfisc1@gmail.com); or - on paper to: Competition Convenors, Boondall Figure Ice Skating Club, 2304 Sandgate Road, Boondall, Qld 4034; or - in the BFISC mailbox. Only complete entries will be accepted. Complete entries include: (i) registration form, (ii) music form, (iii) receipt of evidence full payment. Incomplete entries will not be processed and if completed after the closing date will be treated as late entries. Fees: Singles, all divisions Groups, all divisions $50 $30 per skater

CHEQUE or MONEY ORDER: to Boondall Figure Ice Skating Club Membership requirements: To be eligible for the competition, skaters in Preliminary and above must be current financial members of their State/Territory Association and an affiliated figure skating club. Aussie Skaters must registered in the Aussie Skate programme. Withdrawals: In case of withdrawal of a skater before the draw, 90% of the entry fee will be refunded if a valid medical certificate is provided. No refunds for withdrawals after the draw.

Determination of results: The event will be judged only on the basis of presentation components (program components). There will be no technical panel and no technical mark given. Technical requirements: See Rule 350 of Ice Skating Australia Rulebook (see www.isa.org.au). For levels from Skate School to primary/intermediate and all adult levels, the maximum duration of skating is 1 min and 40 secs, but may be less. For levels Novice and above, the maximum duration of skating is 2 min and 10 secs, but may be less. Vocal music is permitted. Trophies: Trophies will be awarded to the first three place getters of each division. The Sunshine Challenge Trophy will be awarded to best artistic presentation of all single divisions. Music: Music must: - Be provided on Compact Disc (please provide 2 copies) - Contain only one track - Be marked with the following: (i) Competitors name, (ii) Division (e.g. Primary Ladies), (iii) Exact running time of the music (not skating time) Agreement: By completing and submitting the entry form, each competitor (or his/her parent or guardian) is agreeing to the following: 1. I/We confirm that I / we meet the test, age and other requirements of eligibility specified in the published rules of this event. 2. I/We agree to abide by the rules of this event, ISQ Inc. and ISA Incorporated. 3. I/We agree to be punctual for draws, practices, events and official ceremonies. 4. I/We agree to assume all risks of injury or loss for myself / ourselves or, if a parent/guardian, on behalf of my child / ward, and do hereby release and in all respects discharge and agree to hold harmless the conducting body, its officers, agents, employees and sponsors from any claim arising from injury or loss from participation in this event. 5. I/we agree to be photographed or videoed by the official photographer of the event.
