First Run
1. Windows Users: If the application installer does not launch automatically when the CD-ROM is inserted, navigate to and double-click on QA SurgeryInstaller on the CD-ROM to begin. Mac Users: Open the CD-ROM and double-click on the QA Surgery Installer to begin. Note: If you do not have Acrobat Reader 8.1 or higher, you should install it from the CD-ROM rst. 2. The installer will perform a quick test of your system to determine if the minimum version of Adobe AIR is installed. If AIR is not installed, you will be prompted to proceed and install AIR 1.5 and Quick Answers Surgery from the CD-ROM. 3. You will be prompted to accept the Adobe AIR End User License Agreement as well as the McGraw-Hill End User License Agreement. Acceptance of the agreements is a requirement to use the software. 4. If you receive an error message concerning your version of Acrobat Reader or that it cannot be found, navigate to the CD-ROM and launch the Acrobat Reader 9 installer. Windows: AdbeRdr910_en_US_Std.exe Mac (PPC): en_US_ppc.pkg Mac (Intel): en_US_i386.pkg 5. The default directory, Quick Answers Surgery, will be created in the applications directory of the startup disk: Windows: C:\Program Files\Quick Answers Surgery Macintosh: YourDriveName:Applications:Quick Answers Surgery 6. Adobe AIR 1.5 and Acrobat Reader 8.1 or higher are required to view the content, installers can be found on the CD-ROM or may be downloaded from the Adobe site at: Acrobat Reader http://get.adobe.com/reader/ Adobe AIR http://get.adobe.com/air/ 7.
