Digital Temperature Sensor

The LM35 series are precision integrated-circuit temperature sensor, whose output voltage is linearly proportional to the Celsius (Centigrade) temperature. The LM35 thus has an advantage over linear temperature sensors calibrated in Kelvin, as the user is not required to subtract a large constant voltage from its output to obtain convenient Centigrade scaling. The LM35's low output impedance, linear output, and precise inherent calibration make interfacing to readout or control circuitry especially easy. Module triple output mode, digital output is simple, analog output more accurate, serial output with exact readings.

Features
Suitable for remote applications. Low cost due to wafer level trimming. Calibrated directly in Celsius (Centigrade) . 0.5 accuracy guaranteeable (at +25 C). Rated for full -55 to +150 C range. Low self heating, 0.08 C in still air. Module triple output mode, digital output is simple, analog output more accurate, serial output with exact readings. Low impendence output, 0.1W for 1mA load.

Applications
Fahrenheit Thermometer. Remote applications.

Using The Sensor

Connect +5v to pin 2 and ground to pin 5 and 6. Pin 4 and 5 should be connected to particular transmitter and receiver pin of controller. Output pin may be connected to any port pins and can be used to any application.

Working
The sensor has a sensitivity of 10mV / oC. The output of LM35 is amplified using a LM324 single power supply (+5V) op-amp. The op-amp is designed to have a gain of 5. The circuitry measures temperatures with a resolution of

up to 0.5 degree Celsius. The output voltage is converted to temperature by a simple conversion factor. The general equation used to convert output voltage to temperature is: Temperature ( oC) = (Vout * 100) / 5 C So if Vout is 5V, then, Temperature = 100 C The output voltage varies linearly with temperature.
