The Master of Science in Technopreneurship and Innovation (MSc TIP) is conducted on a rigorous full time basis over a period of 12 months. It constitutes a total of 42 Academic Units (AUs) and covers 15 modules. As part of the program design, candidates are required to participate extensively in the entrepreneurship ecosystem which includes the corporate study visits, networking session, and other entrepreneurship initiatives such as SPRING Singapore BlueSky Festivals, NTU Entrepreneurship and Innovation Festival, Ideas.inc. Business Challenge and etc. Candidates are required to pass all modules in order to qualify for the award of master degree (MSc TIP). Please refer to curriculum description for more details. TP6008 & 6009 New Venture Creation (Simulation): Implementing Business Strategy & Managing Growth Participants work in teams to run a simulated start-up company for three years in a realistic global business setting working with guidance from instructors and/or mentors to assume top management roles, make business decisions and manage business operations. TP6007 Seminars on Special Topics in Technopreneurship Distinguished industry speakers and faculty experts take participants through specialised topics relating to Technopreneurship and innovation. Developing New Business Models Participants will form venture teams to evaluate IP positions and develop business concepts for patented emerging technologies available for venture creation from a technology menu consisting of technologies created by the Nanyang Technological University, Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Singapore (A*STAR) or other institutions/organisations. Technology, Innovation & Design Focuses on how start-up companies manage the process of innovation for sustainable competitive advantage. Topics discussed: Creativity, knowledge and skills Working environment and infrastructure required for innovation Generation and evaluation of ideas in product development process Management of innovations leading to technology commercialisation Needs identification and product specifications TP6102 Sustainable Leadership & Strategic Innovation The essence of leadership including models, traits, skills and ability, concept of strategy innovation in contrast with product or technology innovation and the concept of business design innovation are introduced in-depth to develop in the students the leadership capacity, analytical skills and knowledge of leading organisational change and conducting a business re-design based changing customer priorities. Corporate Finance & Merger & Acquisition Study the principles of financial management in the analysis of corporate financial problems in on-going ventures. This includes equity and debt financing, managing corporate growth, free cash flow, financial structure and payout policy, risk management, international corporate finance and real options. Entrepreneurship Case Study Project Participants are required to form teams to undertake an entrepreneurial business plan/case writing project where they will prescribe teaching objectives to the case and propose answers to strategic questions.

Curriculum
TP6001 Entrepreneurship & Business Planning Focuses on equipping candidates with knowledge and tools including business plan development and start-up planning that generate and translate entrepreneurial ideas into successful enterprises. New Venture & Entrepreneur Marketing Key entrepreneurial marketing concepts and methods are imparted along with sophisticated marketing approaches and practical guidance on their application in entrepreneurial situations. Venture Capital Financing Explore high-risk financing from entrepreneurial and venture capitalists perspectives and learn financing strategies for different stages of the venture life cycle. Intellectual Property & Technology Evaluation & Commercialisation Investigates models and tools for effective management of an organisations Intellectual Property (IP), including patents, copyright, trade secret, etc, with emphasis on the identification of appropriate options and methods for organisations to protect and exploit their investments in developing IP. Strategic Management for New Ventures & Technology Firms Explore strategic tools and priorities with which entrepreneurs create and sustain a competitive advantage in todays challenging and complex business environment.

TP8001 Accounting for New & Ongoing Venture This module introduces candidates to entrepreneurial accounting and provides them with a preliminary tool to survive as an entrepreneur. Strategic Human Resource Management for New & Ongoing Ventures Focuses on people management related challenges and considerations and discusses practical management methods and techniques in entrepreneurial context.

Non-Academic Experience
Apart from the essential course curriculum, participants will be have the opportunities to gain invaluable industry insights, extensive industry contacts/networks and essential networking skills through active participation in the entrepreneurship ecosystem such as the corporate study visits and networking sessions in US, China, Malaysia and Singapore, the University Entrepreneurship Speaker Series and other entrepreneurship initiatives such as SPRING Singapore BlueSky Festivals, NTU Entrepreneurship and Innovation Festival, NTU Business Plan Competition and etc. Please refer to the curriculum for further information.

Eligibility : To be eligible, you have to : Possess a good Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline of study from a recognized university or tertiary institution Possess proficiency in English language Applicants whose medium of study at tertiary level is NOT English - must submit relevant documents of proof of basic English language proficiency TOEFL or IELTS score will be useful Possess a strong interest in entrepreneurship and innovation Be intrigued by in the challenges of starting up, growing and/or revitalizing businesses Be a self-driven and committed learner, and a strong team player

Only shortlisted applicants will be interviewed. For shortlisted overseas applicants, interview will be conducted via video conferencing. Here is our Selection Process Only shortlisted applicants will be invited to the Nanyang Technopreneurship Center for an interview. The selection process consists of one (01) in-depth interview by a panel of interviewers; a primary review and recommendation by the management of NTC; and a final review and approval by the Selection Committee. Admissions are also open to all university students graduating in June/July of each year. NATIONAL SERVICE (NS) OBLIGATION (for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents) If applicable, NTC may assist in the application to defer National Service obligation. NTC reserves the right to overturn a successful application should the applicant's request to defer from National Service is declined by the Ministry of Defence of Singapore. Therefore, full disclosure on the application form is strongly encouraged. VISA APPLICATION As and when required, NTC will assist and support the candidate to apply for visa for the Global Immersion Program. Any cost incurred will be borne by the candidate. In the event that the visa application is unsuccessful, the candidate will not be allowed to travel with the class and no refunds to the candidate will be made under such instances. NTC may provide a separate arrangement for the candidate to complete the program, on a case-by-case basis. ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY English is the language of instruction at the Master of Science Technopreneurship & Innovation (MSc TIP) English program. Applicant must be able to understand rapid, idiomatic English and to express themselves clearly in speech and writing. All applicants (except those whose medium of study at tertiary level is English) must submit relevant documents of proof of basic English language proficiency. APPLICATION REVIEW NTC will review your application accordingly and if needed, may follow-up with a checklist of credentials or records that NTC has yet been receive. NTC will notify you of your application results accordingly as soon as the application and selection processes are completed.

1. What is the MSc TIP Program?

The Master of Science in Technopreneurship and Innovation Program or MSc TIP is the 1st of its kind in Asia's Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation educational program. A fast-track approach to entrepreneurship, it is a program of "real-life" study and experiences with unique features including: Unique Teaching Pedagogy Designed with a potential entrepreneur in mind, TIP provides each participant with a wholesome learning experience through a rich array of activities beyond the classroom. With a unique teaching pedagogy, it expertly combines institutionalized learning with Practical Learning Experience, Global Immersion Training and Transformational Experience. By using integrative analytical education tools and dynamic simulations programs, participants will learn how to solve problems and make business decisions effectively. Exhilarating curriculum MSc TIP is an intensive 1-year full time master program offered by NTU. It is modelled against the entire venture creation process and effectively delivered through our unique Teaching pedagogy. MSc TIP Candidates start off the program through a specially designed high-impact team bonding program at the Outward Bound Singapore (OBS). After which MSc TIP Candidates are put through a rigorous knowledge competency building and experiential learning at NTU. Expanding their horizon and global views, MSc TIP Candidates are immersed into a global immersion program countries such as US, UK and/or Malaysia. Real-life applications and entrepreneurial experiences Working with inventors, MSc TIP Candidates form "venture teams" to evaluate Intellectual Properties (IPs) positions and develop business plans and concepts for "patented" emerging technologies created from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) or other selected institutions. Expert mentors Respected entrepreneurs, legal professionals, inventors, officers from government agencies and venture capitalists work with "venture teams" to provide guidance, expertise and resources. Enriching experiences and exceptional resources Tap into the invaluable Technology Entrepreneurship ecosystem on both sides of the world through networking sessions with entrepreneurs, angel investors and venture capitalists such as Nanyang Technological University(NTU) Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week and corporate visits. 2. Who Should Apply? MSc TIP candidates come to the program knowing that their careers will be entrepreneurial. 3. What are the admission requirements ? For admissions as a candidate into the MSc TIP program, the applicant must possess: A good Bachelor's degree in no particular discipline of his university or such graduate of another university as the Academic Board may approve. A strong passion for Entrepreneurship. Proficiency in English Language.
NOTE: Only shortlisted applicants will be interviewed in person, or in some cases, a telephone/SKYPE interview may be arranged. Admissions are also open to all university students graduating in May each year.

5. What is the duration of the program? MSc TIP is a 1 year full time master program offered by Nanyang Technological University. MSc TIP classes will be conducted at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). As part of the Global Immersion Program, MSc TIP candidates will be immersed in countries such as US, UK, China and/or Malaysia. The candidature period for MSc TIP is 3 years.
