Tutorials will all be held in I 313. Grading Policy:


Minor I: Minor II: Project: Major: Quizzes: Tutorials: Tutorials: 10% 15% 25% 30% 10% 10% Each tutorial (attendance, participation and submission) is worth 1%. Best 10 tutorials will be considered. Tutorial marks depend on your presence in the tutorials, diligence on the assignments, and participation. Please maintain a separate notebook for your tutorial. Any work done other than in this notebook will not be assessed for your final tutorial marks. Project: Each tutorial group will work on one project each. This will be a continuous process through the whole semester, whose progress will be monitored and evaluated. You will be evaluated both on your individual performance and team work and participation. Finally, at the end of the semester, each project will have to be presented orally through a series of

presentations and also through a consolidated, professional project report. Topics for the project will be announced in Week 1 of the semester. Exams: Most exams and quizzes in this course will be open book, unless otherwise declared. "Open Book Exam" means you can get any of the prescribed books below or photocopies of parts thereof, but NO OTHER book or photocopy. You can also bring your OWN notes and tutorial note book, and NO PHOTOCOPIES of handwritten notes. Also during examinations, no exchange of study material or notes would be allowed. Institute policy towards discipline and diligence regarding integrity of the course and individual students would be strictly adhered to. Any violation of the above would lead to disciplinary action. Quizzes: These will be surprise quizzes conducted in lecture and tutorial. Typically, if N quizzes are conducted, then best (N-1) marks will be considered in the final tally. This is subject to satisfying the Institute Attendance Criteria listed below.

Attendance Policy:
Institute policy on attendance would be followed in this course. Please refer to Institute manuals and website regarding that policy. Regarding surprise quizzes, the Institute mandated attendance criteria we will follow is that if you overall (lectures + tutorials) is more than 90%, then we take best (N-1) out of N for your total tally for quizzes. Otherwise, we will consider all your quizzes for your total tally for quizzes.
