Dear Parents and Students,


st Our much awaited Funfair Shooting Stars will now be held on Friday, 31 January 2014. We believe that NISV Fun Fair gives our students a wonderful platform to show case their talent, collaborate and communicate with others, while opening up their world to other children. As always, in keeping with our aim to create an awareness and sensitivity to children from deprived backgrounds, Shooting Stars will raise funds to support our ongoing NISV initiative Rammat Gammatma (in support of the children from Ambedkar Nagar village).

The Fun Fair Shooting Stars will showcase the magic of movies with lots of music, dances, games, food and entertainment. We invite you all to make Shooting Stars a grand success by participating in the following ways: 1. Stalls 2. Volunteers 3. Sponsorship and Fund raising 4. Activities for Parents 1. Stalls Students are invited to take stalls for (a) Games & Activities; or (b) Food. As there are a limited number of stalls, it's on firstcome-first-served basis. Stall size will be approximately 10 feet by 7 feet. Basic lighting, a few tables and chairs will be provided in each stall. Last date for booking your stall (games or food) is Friday, 10th January 2014. Please fill the attached form and deposit with cheque payment to your Grade Tutor at the earliest. a. Games & Activities Stalls (@ Rs. 1,500/- per stall): As the theme Shooting Stars aims to showcase the movies from different themes, the stalls' games and activities will have to match it. Students will be informed which movies have to be represented; along with ideas of possible games/activities to represent various Themes. All activities/games have to be innovative and different from what exists or has been done before. We will ensure that the students' games/activities enjoy a monopoly in the Fun Fair. Each stall will be given to a team of 3-5 students, to promote the spirit of teamwork and collaboration. Students can make their own teams among their friends for a stall; or the Coordinators will assist them in forming a team. Due to limited number of stalls and our objective to nurture the spirit of collaboration, students will not be given individual stalls. For queries related to Games Stall, please contact Ms. Anagha Pathak (CBSE Coordinator), Ms. Usha Singh (MYP Coordinator) or Ms. Aditi Tiwari b. Food Stalls (@ Rs. 1,500/- per stall for NISV family & Rs. 3,000/- for outside caterers): Parents and students are invited to prepare and sell home-made food/beverages; or they can bring an outside caterer for the same. Quality of food must be of the highest standards. Each stall will have 1 plug point of 5 amp. Additional plug points for appliances will be available at minimal cost; (5 amp for Rs 100/- and 15 amp for Rs 500/- each). For queries related to Food stall, please contact Ms. Viraaj Jhaveri (PYP Coordinator ) or Ms. Aditi Tiwari. 2. Volunteering Parents' assistance is required in the following areas: o Sponsorship and Fundraising o Entertainment o Stalls (Games and Food) Interested parents may please contact Ms. Usha Singh/Ms. Aditi Tiwari latest by Friday, 10th January 2014.

Sponsorship & Fund raising Coupon Booklets o Each student will be given a coupon booklet from school; and is required to sell at least one booklet (with 10 coupons) among family, friends and neighbours. The cost of one booklet is Rs. 200/- ; this will be deducted from the imprest account of each student. o The booklets will be given to the students on Thursday, 16th January 2014. Students will be required to submit the sold booklet stubs by Monday, 27th January 2014. o Students can buy as many coupon booklets as they wish from school through the Coordinators. o Each coupon owner has a chance to win exciting prizes at the Lucky Draw during the Fun Fair. The lucky draw winner must be present or else will forfeit the prize. o Please encourage your child to sell as many coupons to outsiders, as this is a way of advertising and getting more visitors to the Fun fair. It will give your child the opportunity to meet more people, and develop confidence in communicating with them. Booklet, Sponsorship & LED Advertising o Please take this opportunity to advertise your business in the following ways: o Advertisements in the coupon booklets (total number of booklets to be printed is 1,000, which will have a total of 10,000 coupons) o Sponsor some Lucky Draw prizes (Sponsors' names will be repeatedly announced) o Sponsor the Prize for DVD Season 2 o Digital Screen (LED) advertising (to be supplied by advertiser) 30 Sec digital add Rs. 2,500/- (Will be played at least 30 times), 1min (60 Sec) add Rs. 5,000/- (Will be played at least 30 times) and 2min (120 Sec) add Rs. 10,000/- ( Will be played at least 30 times) All the above are first cum first served basis. Interested parents may contact Aditi Tiwari for further details. Activity For Parents There will be a ramp and stage at the Fun Fair and continuous entertainment has been planned for the evening. We request the parents to take part in the following to activities planned specially for them. o Fashion Show for parents (Dressed as movie stars) specially for Pre-Primary Parents. The winner must be present at the time of the prize declaration to be eligible for the prize. o Dance Performance by parents Solo or Group ( Open to all parents) Audition for the performance by parents will be conducted by the student council and will be informed of the dates in advance.
