Geobiology: Earth Energies That Affect Our Lives by Bill Reid Geobiology the science What is it?

? What is its history? What can it do for me? These are a few of the questions that need to be addressed when confronting any new subject. The reader is encouraged to challenge any and all data in this article. Because a major part of this science may not be experienced directly by the senses, one needs to put the data in the category "maybe it's true, maybe it's not true." As an engineer and research scientist, I started very skeptically and with certain fixed opinions that had to be modified over time. The following presentation attempts to present the salient facts from a broad philosophic viewpoint, while using workability as the ultimate touchstone. What is geobiology? Let's begin with a definition: Blanche Merz[1] says, "Geobiology is the study of the Earth's influence, at a precise point, on everything that lives, be it human, animal, or plant." So what kind of energy are we talking about? The obvious type of energy that came to mind when Slim Spurling and I started working with earth energy in l985 was electromagnetic. With the help of a friend, Shine Richards, we pursued this approach using computer-controlled frequency counters. Unfortunately, none of the results correlated with what we were finding using dowsing. Further work with tri-field meters, which can measure electric, magnetic, and microwave fields, did not yield any further insights. In addition, we had the opportunity to test our dowsing results against a magnetic detection system developed by Dr. L. Mersmann, a German physicist. Working at the home of Richard Crowther, an internationally-known ecological architect and long-time supporter, Slim and I did not show any correlation with the fields that we were detecting that appeared to have a harmful affect on the body. Fields caused by man-made technological Study of the electromagnetic fields connected with power lines, transformers, and video display terminals has been fairly widely reported. The effect on various life types is extremely controversial from an engineering/scientific viewpoint (references [2] and [3] discuss these extensively). For those individuals who exhibit extreme sensitivity to these fields, there are several approaches that can be utilized. One of these remedies involves independent grounding of the incoming power. Additionally, it may be necessary to splice a section of plastic pipe into the water pipe, particularly if the water pipe is radiating a frequency such as radio waves. Another simple approach for handling electromagnetic sensitivity so as to promote proper sleep is to turn off the electricity at the breaker box at night. Geobiological fields and dowsing My interest in dowsing, the cornerstone tool for any true geobiologist, dates from the late '60s or early '70s. This

interest was stimulated by Karl von Mueller, the dean of American treasure hunters, who promoted it as another tool for treasure hunting one of my many passions. My interest was further stimulated after reading Supersensonics by Christopher Hills.[4] This book covers the related fields of radionics, radiesthesia, conventional physics, and radiational paraphysics, all seeming to indicate that dowsers are using the brain/body as detectors for forces operating in the realm of consciousness. In the mid-'70s I was fortunate to receive training from Russ Symonds of the Institute of Dowsing. While the course was primarily oriented toward treasure dowsing, the techniques could be used for a variety of things, such as locating individuals or finding negative earth energy zones. The uses are limited only by one's imagination. One of the by-products of this course was that I discovered I could feel warm/cold spots in the human aura. It happened in the following manner: While map dowsing for precious metal veins, the instructor asked us to run our palm over the map to see if we noticed anything. Although definitely a skeptic, in doing this I certainly felt a heat sensation. Perplexed, I later asked my wife to let me pass my hand over her body about two-inches from the skin. I found both warm and cool spots. When I touched the warm spots, my wife reported various levels of discomfort. By using this ability to balance her body energy, I was eventually able to eliminate various physical conditions. Curing chronic conditions In 1985, while working with Slim Spurling[5] on a handyman business in an upper-middle-class section of Denver, Colorado, we met many individuals who were sick and who indicated in our casual, health-related conversations that the sickness began after they had moved into a particular house. From this we took up the challenge of our first case. This was a woman in her early thirties who had developed continual headaches and an inability to work after moving into her dream home. By dowsing, we asked for and located energy zones that were harmful to her health. We found fields mainly in her bed, as well as in the kitchen. But what could we do with this information? Using a pendulum with attached swivel magnets (obtained from Christopher Hill's University of the Trees), I was able to determine that the energy was polarized in a vertical plane. So the question became: Could we move or divert this energy? Slim came up with the idea of diverting it around the house. By driving a one-inch-drill steel rod into the ground two to three feet, and then hitting the rod with a sledgehammer in the direction we wanted the fields to move, we found that they could be diverted out of the house. We call this rod an "earth acupuncture needle." If one of us stood in the pathway of the deflection holding L-rods, the dowsing rods would deflect as the field passed through the body. After a few months it became evident that vibrations from heavy equipment in the neighborhood were often causing these fields to revert to their former locations. I had read that the world-famous water dowser Verne Cameron[6] used a technique similar to ours with the metal rods to move water veins back into wells that had run dry. So we went back and moved the fields. We did this while the woman was not home, but a telephone call a few days later revealed that she found the difference remarkable. The headaches disappeared within a short time and she no longer felt a desire to sell the house. In another case, a young girl of about ten who had been experiencing twenty to fifty epileptic seizures per day never

had another seizure after we neutralized the field going through her bed. She was also upgraded from strongly to mildly retarded. From this experience, we drew the conclusion that some individuals may entrain the negative earth energy with the brain waves. The effect of negative energy fields on trees One thing we learned in the early observation and exploration phase of this work was that the energy has a different effect on different biological organisms. For example, maple and pine trees appear particularly sensitive to negative energy fields. Affected trees bifurcate close to the ground, or literally seem to bend away from the direction of the fields. In my own case, I had on my land a pine sapling that had grown only about three feet in twelve years, and that appeared twisted and stunted. In the year following our diversion of the field that passed through that tree, the tree assumed a normal growth pattern, almost double that of the previous years. The growth of this tree probably did more than anything else to convince my skeptical wife of the reality of these fields. Up to that point, she had been attributing the miracle-like changes largely to what she thought of as "charisma." One of the strangest cases involved a weeping willow. This particular tree the only one to survive of several planted in this particular area over a five-year period had branches that curled inward, into the center of the tree. Slim, with his background as a forester, always said that it looked more like a tumbleweed than a weeping willow. Anyway, about three weeks after diverting the negative energy that had been going through that tree, it reverted to a normal growth mode, with outward-curling branches. Negative energy fields and cancer After about two years of working in the Denver area, Slim and I worked on a mining project in a remote area of southern Nevada. There we had further opportunity to observe these energy fields. Shortly afterward, I did a workshop with Vince Wiberg, a southern California master dowser. He worked for the world-famous cancer specialist Dr. Hans Nieper.[7] Before Dr. Nieper would accept an American cancer client, he sent Vince to work on the electro-magnetics and negative earth energy of the home. The Germans have certainly been leaders in pointing out the strong correlation between negative earth energy and cancer. According to von Pohl,[8] cancer often occurs in individuals who sleep over a geopathic zone.[9] In working with many individuals with cancer, it has been uncanny to find that many of them had been sleeping over a negative earth energy for approximately eleven years before the cancer occurred. While Vince had many special gifts to offer individuals affected by negative earth energy, three things that he said or did particularly stood out: The omega ring. This is made by bending a 20.6-inch length of 12- or 14-gauge copper wire (plain or plastic coated) around a one-pound coffee can. Then each end is bent back about one-and-one-half inches. (The length is related to the Egyptian cubit more about that later.) The final product looks like the Greek letter omega, six inches in diameter with a two-inch opening. By arranging the open end so that energy flows into it, the shape acts as a resonant cavity to absorb or deflect the negative energy. The omega coil also works by placing it vertically so that the open end is downward. These are most useful in buildings, particularly during the winter when it is not possible to put "acupuncture needles" into the ground. A simple radio frequency detector. For this, you use a small battery-operated AM/FM radio. Tune it to a station on the low end of the AM dial, then detune until no sound is heard. If you bring this radio close to a source of radio

frequencies, such as a dimmer switch, you will hear a squealing sound. Last but not least, a theory to account for fields. Vince thought that the planet absorbed and then reradiated tachyonic energy, that is, superluminal or faster-than-the-speed-of-light energy. These ideas may have originated with Hans Nieper, who sponsored various conferences on gravity. This theory is even more intriguing if a theory of global expansion tectonics proposed by the geologist James Maxlow[10] has validity. In this case, we could say that the creation of mass is the result of energy condensation, based on Albert Einstein's equation that energy is equal to mass times the speed of light squared.

Restructuring water In late 1991, after our involvement with a particular mining project had come to an end, Slim and I vigorously pursued geobiology. Up until that time we had been donating a gallon of specially altered water to each individual that we did work for. We did this based upon the hypothesis that negative stress fields not only create chaos in the body and biofields, but also constrict the cell membranes. We often had reports of "healing crises" lasting from one to about three weeks through the use of this water. To speed up the detoxification, we altered the water using a tunable, soft iron (ferrite) caduceus-wound rod. A brief description of such an instrument was given in one of the issues of Energy Unlimited, a new age science magazine. Slim, with his genius for making tools, also incorporated a pancake-wound coil, patterned after the work of Nicola Tesla. The biggest drawback to this instrument was that it took about 24 hours to charge a bottle of water. Later, we learned how to restructure water almost instantly. Both serendipity and synchronicity seemed to play a role in the development of the various energy-balancing tools that Slim and I developed. Certainly the major credit for this accomplishment belongs to Slim. The production of the first tool a ring with a spherical amplifier was the outgrowth of a rather bizarre happening. At the request of Richard Crowther we examined a supposedly "free-energy" device that was reported to be able to both heat and cool buildings. (Tom Bearden made an evaluation of this work, but I have not been able to locate the article in what my children refer to as my "branch library."[11]) When we were looking at the device, which consisted of a multi-stranded cable with various electronic components such as diodes, two visitors the late Bob Miller and his wife, Sue came to our laboratory. Bob suggested that we touch the two ends together. After we had done this, Sue, who is very clairvoyant, was startled to observe a beam of light emerging from the ring so created. We experimented further by standing in the ring, and Sue was able to see changes to the light-body or hologram. Water seemed also to be instantly charged. Testing the rings and coils Based on these observations, Slim took copper wire a cubit long and made a ring by soldering the ends with silver. A copper ball was added to act as an amplifier. Pendulum dowsing showed that one side of the wire had an energy with a clockwise spin, while the energy of the other side was counter-clockwise. Besides using various clairvoyants to observe the interaction of the energy, the following microbiologic testing was
file:///C|/Users/Administrator/Desktop/Research%20for%20Energeticy/BillRied.txt[1/11/2014 1:07:03 AM]

done. A sample of common household dust was placed along with agar-agar in three petrie dishes. One dish was left as a control, while the remaining dishes were surrounded with rings of a different spin. After three to four days, the following became apparent: The control showed a normal, mold-like growth. The dish with the clockwise spin showed virtually no growth. The remaining dish, with the counter-clockwise spin, showed abnormally large growth.

How does this relate to geobiology? When two geopathic or Hartmann fields cross, a vortex is created with a counter-clockwise spin. We speculate that the presence of such energy fields encourages various pathogens and probably contributes to the "sick building syndrome" (of course it is the people who are sick, not the building). Since testing further indicated the potential for misuse of the "negative" side of the ring, they were redesigned to generate clockwise fields. So how do the rings work? Although we don't know exactly, the following theory is put forth: One end of a wire has a positive (clockwise) spin, while the other end has the opposite spin. By joining the two ends together with solder, a transistor effect (PNP junction) tends to cohere the zero point energy, while the attached copper ball serves as a spherical capacitor amplifier (capacitance is to gravity what induction is to magnetism). Coils, feedback loops, and harmonizers Over the next several years a coil (which we called the acu-vac), a feedback loop, and various sizes of harmonizers including personal and environmental were perfected. In design of these tools, both polarity and direction of flow is considered. The length of the wire is a multiple of the Egyptian Cubit, the base measurement of which is found carved in stone in the King's Chamber of the Great Pyramid at Giza. It is a harmonic of: the radius of the hydrogen atom, the speed of light at the earth's surface, the mass at the center of a light field (six times gravity or l.69443 geodetic feet), the mass of the Earth, and the Earth's magnetic field. We are indebted to Bruce Cathie, a New Zealander, who developed and wrote about these measurements in his various books. Using geobiological tools What is the net result of all this work and how does it relate to geobiology? The technology can be used to create a safe or sacred space for individuals in a home or business. This is done by finding geopathic zones fields of energy coming out of the ground that appear to create chaos in the physical and subtle energy or auric fields of the individual.

These fields appear to be four to eight feet wide width and intensity seem to relate both to moon phase and planetary configuration as well as subsurface geology. According to various clairvoyants, the centers of these fields are about an inch wide. By inserting two L-rods (l8-inch copper-plated gas welding rods with a right-angle bend 4 to 5 inches from one end) into the ground so as to straddle the center core, the fields arch up and over the structure. Apparently the L-rods act as antennae to divert the energy up and over the building and rejoin the grid about 250 feet away. In a similar manner, the negative Hartmann grid a grid roughly 6.5 by 8 feet can be neutralized. In this case, the fields flow from south to north and from west to east, so that only the earth acupuncture needles are required on the west and south sides of the property. Another type of energy that we discovered is a field that affects an individual, or "personal" zone within the home. These are detected by dowsing from the viewpoint of the individual or individuals involved. Neutralization of personal zones is the same as for the geopathic zones. Other techniques may be used to achieve neutralization of the zones. Slim is currently experimenting with the burial of three different-sized rings to achieve the same result. During an August ancient-Egyptian healing workshop with Doug Benjamin of Walled Lake, Michigan, I learned how to put four rods, 25 inches long and of any material metal , plastic, etc. at the northwest, northeast, southwest, and southeast corners of a structure or property, and 4 rods, 21-1/8 inches long and of a similar material half-way between the 25-inch rods. Limited experience seems to show that the resonance generated by the two different rod lengths causes the disappearance of the various negative earth energies. More work needs to be done to verify the workability of these original observations. Other types of negative energy Are there other types of energy that need to be addressed? Unfortunately, yes. Vortexes with a counter-clockwise spin have suddenly become more prominent since last March. These vortexes seem to come from space toward the earth, and are always associated with a positive spin vortex located a few feet away that come out of the earth. In the last fifteen-plus years, I have only found three or four of these negative vortexes. There were probably lots more, but I just wasn't looking for them. They were brought to my attention after teaching a workshop on geobiology in Sedona, Arizona, last March where my host, Diana James whose property we did during the class just did not receive the benefits expected. Further research indicated that she had a vortex in her bed area. This vortex was neutralized by putting a 3.5-cubit copper ring on the floor above. Slim says that he uses two 18-inch lengths of rod at right angles to do the same job. Diana and several members of the group that I trained struggled to clear the members' homes of vortexes. She has found several types and combinations of vortexes that she hopes to write a book about. Sedona, which already has "bragging rights" on vortexes, may turn out to be the vortex capital of this country. Since coming back to the Denver area I have found vortexes connected with several properties that I worked with. Other balancing techniques Can other techniques be useful? One in particular, pioneered by Machaelle Small Wright of the Perelandra Center for Nature Reseaarch, is to work with the devas.[12] She stresses work with the zone or zones to return them to a strong environmental balance. I personally solicit devic help in maintaining and creating harmony on the property after doing earth acupuncture. Are there certain individuals who do not respond to this type of work? Yes and no. Let me explain.

file:///C|/Users/Administrator/Desktop/Research%20for%20Energeticy/BillRied.txt[1/11/2014 1:07:03 AM]

About four years ago, after I stopped working directly with Slim (as I often jokingly say, now I only work 12 hours a day), I contacted about 100 individuals who had either had geopathic work or energy balancing work done, or both, who had reported either limited or no benefits from the work that was done. These individuals had also reported that no other practitioner or modality had been able to help them, either. The complaints voiced were so varied that I will not attempt to enumerate them. I asked each individual to take an oral temperature before getting out of bed for one week. In 99 out of the l00 (don't take these numbers too literally), the individuals reported a temperature at least 1.5 degrees or greater below the normal 98.6. I had learned about a condition called "Wilson's Syndrome" through reading the book Wilson's Syndrome: The Miracle of Feeling Well, and pointed out to these individuals that the low temperature might be related to this syndrome. This is an inability of the body to convert T4 to T3 (the most active thyroid hormone), and is caused by stress, trauma, illness, etc.[13] Many of the severely affected individuals then sought professional help to raise their body temperature, and it was effective in many cases. Nnot all low body temperatures are caused by Wilson's Syndrome. But if you are having problems like depression, chronic fatigue, unwanted joint pain (that may be diagnosed as fibromyalgia), or any of the proverbial 101 other floating symptoms, you might want to take your temperature and check out this possibility. The big picture The work that Slim and I have done, and my own work, suggest that one needs to learn about earth energies, both positive and negative, to be able to create a safe/sacred space from which to operate in the physical universe. Following this, the use of various physical and spiritual tools can help to create a sacred space around the body. When both the macrocosm and the microcosm are brought into harmony, you may then more freely experience the fun of exploring your spirituality. Bill Reid was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut, and graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in 1961 with a degree in mining/geological engineering. His work experience in the material sciences has been in the field of precious metal extraction and process development. He is a gemologist (FGA), and inventor/co-inventor of the Light-Life Ring, Acu-Vac Coil, Feedback Loop, and Harmonizers. His subtle energy research has included Reichian Orgone instruments and application in alchemy and tachyon physics, and he developed a process to bond alchemical gold/silver to silk. Besides his scientific pursuits, Reid is a musician (ragtime to classical), linguist, psychic, healer, dowser, and counselor. He is available to teach workshops in geobiology to a minimum group of 15. You may reach him by email at BillOrPat@home.com.
