LD Furniture started out life as a few stalls at the indoor sunday car boot sale in Cardigan, but now, nearly three years after taking on their first storage unit, the pair are looking forward to celebrate their third year going from strength to strength on the Pentood Estate employing over 10 local people.

In the beginning we had four stalls, two of which were just furniture that wed accumulated between us, the couple said. People used to ask us if we could get furniture for them so we started buying from people and we found we were running out of room, so we took on unit 18 for storage. shortly after, we decided to open a few days a week with the hope we could sell a few items to help cover the rent. This turned out to be so successful we opened up five days a week. Three months later we took on the next door unit, 17, and knocked through as wed outgrown our original unit. The success didnt stop there, however, and soon both units were full to bursting. With the stock change around getting ever busier, and even more demand for a larger choice of furniture and household items, the couple were soon looking for bigger premises. Just a year on they have now opened at Unit 6 on the Pentood Industrial

Estate in Cardigan, six doors up from where it all began. We are now five times bigger and have five times more choice in new and pre-owned furniture, said the Lydons. There is something to interest everyone, with items for the home and gifts for a loved one or friends, and with ever changing stock there is plenty to keep customers coming back. LD Furniture stocks a large range of leather and fabric suites, tables, chairs and dining room furniture plus everything from a four poster bed to childrens bedroom furniture and more. some white goods are available in addition to office furniture including filing cabinets. The firms successful Facebook page has more than 1,200 friends and the firm has delivered as far as Aberystwyth, Ammanford and Pembroke. LD furniture offers a part exchange policy and also undertakes house, shed and caravan clearances and a service for holiday homes and cottages. Ample parking is available.
