FOCUS Worship Feb 2

The FOCUS Worship service was a warm gathering of community, welcoming the newest covenant partner, First Church in Albany. Special guest Sara Miles preached, and a combined choir made for a rare and special day.

Welcoming Rev. Keith Scott


Welcome, Rev. Keith! Keith Scott is a long time volunteer in the FOCUS Breakfast Program, making his weekly appearance as the Tuesday morning dishwasher. Rev. Keith will be taking on a new hat as the Interim Director of FOCUS while Rev. Deb Jameson starts her sabbatical. Welcome, Keith! You may get to know Keith through the various FOCUS programs in the coming months. Be sure to say hello!

Farm Bill Spotlight


Heat or Eat? The Implementation of Farm Bill Cuts Members of Congress have signed a letter to the secretary of the USDA to urge implementation of the LIHEAP benefit changes in the new farm bill. Speedy implementation of the change will provide states increased lead time to grasp for additional resources and supports for the 850,000 seniors, children, and individuals living with a disability who will lose benefits because of this policy change.
