FOCUS at WORSHIP AUGUST 4

FOCUS Worship took place on Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church. A great thank you to everyone involved in coming together for a special gathering.

2. OUTFITTED FOR SCHOOL

Broken pencils are pointless. So join us for the School Supply Drive! You can assist as a volunteer in sorting supplies and distributing them. The following dates are available and in need of volunteers:

Elm Street Pottery Studio will offer 3 Make a Bowl sessions in support of Empty Bowls Project: FOCUS and Hunger Action Network of New York State Working Together to End Hunger. If you have ever been curious about how to make your own pottery, now is the time to gain new skills and support the cause of ending hunger. Make a bowl, keep it or donate to Empty Bowls.

4. BREAKFAST BOWLS
For the past 2 weeks, guests of the Breakfast Express program painted bowls for the Empty Bowls Project. Creativity sparked discussions of hunger and its impact on the local community.

5. ADVOCACY CALL TO ACTION

The Farm Bill is a gargantuan piece of legislation that shapes our food system. Although the future of this bill is unclear, we know one thing: Enormous cuts to the SNAP program are proposed by both the House and Senate. National anti-hunger advocates have a simple message:

Hunger is not an option.
