What Happens In The Government

The Ecuadorian government is similar to the United States government, but there are some differences between the two. The Ecuador Government uses the military a lot to make sure that the police patrols are up to date. One of the Ecuadorian military leaders is named Alfredo Poveda Burbano. They also have increased police patrols on tourist areas but you should still watch out if visiting the country. There is not an exact number of how many drug labs there are in all. But the government has demolished many of them in the past couple of years, and set re to many drugs. The government has put restrictions on the media and anybody who is against the president, Rafeal Correa. In November of 2011 the capital tax income raised from 2% to 5%. Also in 2011, Ecuador changed their Constitution. That is a really big and broad topic for Ecuador. Ecuadorians have to be careful what all they do in their country. They also have to follow the ten new amendments. There has been political unrest in the country, but the current president has been in ofce for many years and was recently reelected. The following pages explain more about the Ecuadorian government, including the branches of government and the past presidents.
