Remote upload
When there is a transfer of data from a remote s"stem to another remote s"stem! the process is called )remote uploading). This is used $" some online file hosting ser&ices. *emote uploading is also used in situations where the computers that need to share data are located on a distant high+speed ,A-! and the remote control is $eing performed using a comparati&el" slow dial+up modem connection. For e.ample:

The user remotel" accesses a file hosting ser&ice at /"*emoteHost. The user finds a pu$lic file at Pu$lic*emoteHost and wants to eep a cop" in their /"*emoteHost. To ha&e it done the" )remote upload) the file from Pu$lic*emoteHost to /"*emoteHost. -one of the hosts are located on the user0s local networ .

Without remote uploading functionalit"! the user would $e re1uired to download the file first to their local host and then upload it to the remote file hosting ser&er. Where the connection to the remote computers is &ia a dial+up connection! the transfer time re1uired to download locall" and then upload again could increase from seconds to hours or da"s.
