CHAPTER 1
Introduction
The creation of prediction and analysis arrays can be one of the most time consuming parts of RF Planning. ARRAYWIZARD eliminates the need to create arrays manually. Using the filters you have created in ENTERPRISE and the data in your database, ARRAYWIZARD automatically generates arrays for you. ARRAYWIZARD enables you to process your data throughout a distributed PC based network. You can use ARRAYWIZARD to: Create, maintain and monitor the ARRAYWIZARD Servers which handle distributed workload Create and maintain parameter sets to control the generation of prediction and analysis arrays Adjust the production of predictions and arrays using network parameters To view the arrays that have been created by ARRAYWIZARD you use the Map View window in ENTERPRISE as described in the ASSET3G Help and User Reference Guide.

Before You Start

To install ARRAYWIZARD, you will need: Administrator rights for the PC on which you will install ARRAYWIZARD. The correct serial number. Contact support using the details in this chapter if you cannot see ARRAYWIZARD in the list of products when you install. The ENTERPRISE Installation and Administration User Reference Guide, to follow the step by step instructions for installing any of the ENTERPRISE products including ARRAYWIZARD. Before you can start to use ARRAYWIZARD, you will need: An Oracle data source ENTERPRISE project data Filters so that you can select types of equipment and geographical areas where you can run your predictions.

To use ARRAYWIZARD you will need to perform the following steps which are described in this manual.

Obtaining User Assistance

Using Online Help ENTERPRISE products come with a complete system of online Help which you can access in three ways: From the Help menu, click Help Contents. Scroll through the table of contents and choose a relevant topic to display. To search for something particular, from the Help menu, click Help Contents and using the Index tab or Search tab, type in a letter or word to start searching for relevant topics. Press F1 in a dialog box to view context-sensitive help (available for most dialog boxes).

To open the ARRAYWIZARD Administrator: 1 2 3 Click Start. Browse to the ARRAYWIZARD subfolder of ENTERPRISE, for example All Programs/AIRCOM International/ENTERPRISE 6.0/ARRAYWIZARD. Click ARRAYWIZARD Admin tool.

About the ARRAYWIZARD Toolbar

The ARRAYWIZARD toolbar enables you to open and close projects, view map information, filter the display of running tasks and refresh the data displayed. The following picture shows the ARRAYWIZARD toolbar:

About the Map View Window

The Map view window enables you to view your current networks configuration, coverage predictions and 2g and 3g arrays. In the ARRAYWIZARD Administrator the Map View window retains the core functionality of the Map View window in ENTERPRISE. For more information see the ENTERPRISE User Reference Guide.
Permitting and Preventing Multiple Users

You can configure ARRAYWIZARD to allow more than one administrator to schedule jobs. This is achieved by allowing each administrator to create their own personal user schema in the same database. The default schema can be used by any user whereas a user schema can only be used by the user who created it. Any parameter sets that are stored in a user schema will only be visible to the user that created the schema. There can only ever be one default schema but there can be multiple user schemas. Each server machine can only work with one schema. If you are using two user schemas then you will need at least two server machines available.

To permit multiple users: 1 On the Tools menu select Allow user schemas so there is a tick next to this option:
If this is the first time you have done this, a message informing you that you will need to log out and in again for the change to take effect appears. 2 3 Click OK. Log out of ARRAYWIZARD. ARRAYWIZARD is now configured to allow multiple users. Next time a user logs in to ARRAYWIZARD, the schema choice dialog is displayed:
. To log in to ARRAYWIZARD with a user schema which can only be used by the current user: 1 2 3 4 Select User Schema. Click OK. The Confirm schema creation dialog appears. Click Yes. A message informing you that the schema has been created appears. Click OK. You can now use ARRAYWIZARD with your user schema and you will see that the current user name (such as 'admin') rather than 'default' is displayed at the top of the left hand pane of the ARRAYWIZARD Main Window:

Subsequently when you log in to ARRAYWIZARD the schema choice dialog will appear with User Schema selected by default. Since the user schema has already been created you need only click OK to continue using ARRAYWIZARD with your user schema. If you choose to use the default schema instead, this choice will appear the in schema choice dialog by default next time you log in to ARRAYWIZARD. To prevent multiple users: 1 On the Tools menu, deselect Allow user schemas so that there is no tick next to this option. A message informing you that you will need to log out and in again for the change to take effect appears. Click OK. Log out of ARRAYWIZARD. ARRAYWIZARD is now configured not to allow multiple users. Subsequently when you log in to ARRAYWIZARD the schema choice dialog will not appear and the default schema will be used. You will see that default schema rather than administrator schema is displayed at the top of the left hand pane of the ARRAYWIZARD Main Window.

Setting Up Servers
ARRAYWIZARD can distribute the processing load across multiple PCs to achieve greater speeds and to accomplish large tasks. In the context of ARRAYWIZARD, the term "servers" refers to applications that generate predictions and arrays based on parameter sets. In this sense, ARRAYWIZARD defines 3 types of servers, namely Prediction servers, 2g servers and 3g servers, with each one having a connection to the central ENTERPRISE database. A single PC can run multiple instances of such servers. You can choose to run servers on separate machines in your network, for distributed processing. These can predict and re-predict out-of-date sites at defined intervals. Intervals can be set in the scheduler or you can manually start and stop parameter sets. The following table details the associations between servers and parameter sets:

About the Server Status

The current status of your servers is indicated in the right hand pane of the ARRAYWIZARD main window under the heading of Status.
The following table shows the status meanings:

Status Stopped Meaning The server is stopped and will need to be started (manually or automatically) in order to run tasks. To start a server manually, see Starting and Stopping Servers on page 24. The server is available to run tasks but is not currently processing any. There is no response from the server. Check the server. The server has completed a task belonging to one project and is about to process another belonging to a different project. The server is in the process of running a task. ARRAYWIZARD Administrator has just been started and has not yet received a polling response from the server. The server is responding to polls but has not provided a status update since the ARRAYWIZARD Administrator was started. An error has occurred. The server will not process any more tasks until it has been restarted. To start a server manually, see Starting and Stopping Servers on page 24.

Adding Servers
By adding servers, you can choose a type of server and decide where you want your server to run from. Note : You will need to have the ARRAYWIZARD Server software installed on any machine you select. It may be that servers have already been added during the installation process. See Configuring Servers on page 25 for further details. To add a server: 1 In the left hand pane of the main window right-click on Servers and from the menu that appears, click Add Server:
You can select your local machine to add or if you have a network, you can distribute the processing of servers to other machines. Distributed processing allows you to share the resources of your network and is helpful if you are running frequent predictions or predictions for large networks. Servers read and write predictions to a common shared directory. In the Server Name field of the New Server dialog box that appears: If you wish to run the server from your local machine, type in the name of your local machine. If you wish to run the server from a machine present on your network, type in the name of the networked machine.

In the Server Type field, select the type of server (2g, 3g or prediction) that you wish to create from the drop down list. In the Startup Type field, select whether you want to start this server manually or automatically. Note : If you select Automatic from the drop down list the server will be started by ARRAYWIZARD Administrator which checks regularly to see if any servers need to be started or stopped. If ARRAYWIZARD Administrator fails to start the server it will not try again for a given period, the default being four hours. A server designated as automatic will be shut down automatically if it is inactive for a given period (the default being twenty minutes) and there is no work for it to do.
Click OK.
Your server is now ready to run.

Starting and Stopping Servers

To start a server manually: 1 2 3 In the left hand pane of the main window, select Servers. In the right hand pane, right-click on the server to be started. On the menu that appears, click Start. The status of the server is updated when the resulting Starting Server progress bar reaches the end. In the left hand pane of the main window, select Servers. In the right hand pane, right-click on the server to be stopped. On the menu that appears, click Stop. The status of the server is updated when the resulting Shutting Down Server progress bar reaches the end. An error message is displayed if the server is processing an array when you attempt to stop it.

Monitoring Servers
To help diagnose problems with a server, you can remotely retrieve its message log: 1 In the left hand pane of the ARRAYWIZARD Administrator main window, click Servers. A list of servers is displayed in the right hand pane:
Right-click on the server you wish to monitor and from the menu that appears, select Retrieve Message Log. The message log for the selected server is displayed.
Deleting Servers
By deleting servers you can remove servers from any machine present in your network. Note : You cannot delete a running server. To delete a server: 1 2 3 4

In the left hand pane of the main window, select Servers. In the right hand pane, right-click on a server. From the menu that appears, click Delete. Click Yes.
Configuring Servers
This process is normally carried out when ENTERPRISE is installed and is described in the ENTERPRISE Installation and Administration Guide. If it has not been done during ENTERPRISE installation it can be done subsequently using the Configure ARRAYWIZARD Server tool as described below. Before you can use ARRAYWIZARD on a particular machine you must identify: The database to which all the ARRAYWIZARD servers running on the machine will connect The account under which they will run. To configure a server: 1 Click Start, All Programs, AIRCOM International, ENTERPRISE 6.0, ArrayWizard, Configure ARRAYWIZARD Server. The following dialog box appears:

Select Use Default Schema if you want this server to connect to the default schema. - or Select Use User Schema if you want this server to connect to the personal schema for the user specified in the Database User Name field.

Note : This account must have access to folders containing predictions, coverage details and map data. 4 Click OK. Note : You can use the Register Servers button to add all 2g, 3g and prediction servers automatically rather than adding them manually via the ARRAYWIZARD Administrator as described under Adding Servers on page 23. You can view the servers that you have automatically added by opening the ARRAYWIZARD Administrator, clicking on ARRAYWIZARD in the left hand pane of the Main Window and then clicking on Servers.

Creating Arrays Using ARRAYWIZARD

Arrays are generated from network information stored in your database. You can configure parameter sets to extract this information from your database and create your arrays. You can schedule the interval for this extraction to ensure that your predictions and arrays are up to date. If they are found to be out of date, they are updated during the predictions process. Important : Before you create coverage analysis arrays, ensure you have created filters and coverage schemas in ENTERPRISE and ASSET3G. For more information see the ENTERPRISE and ASSET3G User Reference Guides.

ARRAYWIZARD uses the same system to create its Pathloss Predictions and Coverage Arrays as ASSET3G. It can create: GSM Coverage arrays such as Best Server and Service Area (block or contour) 3g arrays such as Pilot Strength, Ec/Io, Pilot Polluters and Handover Type for UMTS and CDMA2000 networks ARRAYWIZARD uses tiling as a way of breaking down the region of interest into more manageable portions which require fewer resources and can also be distributed for processing. By decreasing the tile size, you can create more tiles which require less memory and processing, but consequently decrease the speed of the calculations. The tile size defines the distance in km that each array file is created for. For example, a tile size of 30 will create array tiles of 30 x 30 square km for the entire area of the network you are using for your predictions.

Opening and Closing Projects

In ARRAYWIZARD you can configure coverage and prediction settings for several projects stored in the same database. The multi-project support that ARRAYWIZARD provides enables you to perform the following functions on parameter sets without having to open the projects with which they are associated: Run Delete Rename Change schedules Change output file formats Show selected tasks Delete all tasks To carry out any of these functions: 1 2 3 In the left-hand pane of the ARRAYWIZARD Administrator main window, click on 2g Analysis, 3g Analysis or Cell Predictions as required. In the right-hand pane of the ARRAYWIZARD Administrator main window, right-click on a parameter set. From the menu that appears select the function you require. If you select Edit from this menu you will be prompted to open a project. From the File menu, click Open Project. In the dialog box that appears, select the project you wish to configure and click Start.
To open a project at any other time in order to create or edit parameter sets: 1 2
To close the current project and open another project in the same database: 1 2 3 4 From the File menu, click Close Project. Click Yes to confirm. From the File menu, click Open Project. In the dialog box that appears, select the project you wish to configure and click Start.

To close the current project and open another project in a different database: 1 2 3 4 5 6 From the File menu, click Logout. Click Yes to confirm. From the File menu, click Login. In the dialog box that appears, enter your password and click the Login button. From the File menu, click Open Project. Selecting an Area of Your Network

By selecting an area of your network in the Map View window you can identify specific sites or a specially chosen geographical location from which you wish to produce your arrays. To select an area of your network: 1 2 From the View menu select New 2d View or click on the View window. You must have a project open to do this. icon to open the Map
Display sites and filters in your network from which you wish to produce your arrays.
For more information on these steps see the ENTERPRISE User Reference Guide. When you create a parameter set for analysis arrays as described in the following sections, you can apply the current map view to it.
Creating Parameter Sets

You can use parameter sets to retrieve specific parameters from your database relating to arrays you wish to generate. By using parameter sets you can choose exactly which data elements you wish to extract from your database in order to create the arrays you require. The three types of parameter set that you can create are: 2g Analysis Parameter Sets 3g Analysis Parameter Sets Prediction Parameter Sets The following sections describe how to create each of these three types of parameter set. For more information on the setting and use of specific parameters see the ENTERPRISE and ASSET3G User Reference Guides.

Creating 2g Analysis Parameter Sets

2g analysis parameter sets are used to retrieve information from your database which is needed to create 2g analysis arrays. For more information on the setting and use of specific parameters see the ENTERPRISE and ASSET3G User Reference Guides. Note : Before creating 2g analysis parameter sets, ensure that you have added a server. For information on how to do this, see Adding Servers on page 23. If you have not yet opened a project you must now do so as described under Opening and Closing Projects. To create 2g analysis parameter sets: 1 2 In the left hand pane of the Main Window select 2g Analysis. Right-click and from the menu that appears, select Add 2g Analysis:
On the Select View page that appears, enter in the co-ordinates for the area of your network view containing the sites you wish to predict. - or If you are displaying the sites in the Map View window, click Select View to use the view currently displayed.

Click Next. Select the filters you wish to use and click Next. Select the types of arrays you wish to create. If you wish to display a particular Nth best server, type a value for N next to the checkbox:
Note : The default setting of 1 is equivalent to the best server, 2 represents the second best server and so on. 7 8 In the Resolution field, select a resolution for the array. In the Tile Size field, select a tile size. This size defines the distance in km that each array file is created for. For example, a tile size of 30 will create array tiles of 30 x 30 square km for the entire area of the network you are using for your predictions.

The number of tiles that will be generated by your choice of tile size and region is shown below the Tile Size field after you have made an entry in it:
Click Next.
10 Choose whether cell layers will be considered during the creation of coverage arrays and select the layers whose contribution you want to include. You can do this for both the serving and interfering signal. 11 To override the best server selection algorithm and ignore the contribution of higher priority cell layers without any carrier assignments, select the Consider only sub-cells that have carrier layers with assigned carriers checkbox. This prevents holes in the interference array from appearing when a sub-cell theoretically provides coverage but has not yet been assigned any carriers. 12 In the Thresholds pane, type service level and timing advance threshold values. These thresholds restrict the overall radius of coverage provided by the sub-cell to either the minimum service level or the maximum timing advance, whichever is reached first. For a cell using extended range where two timeslots are used, the maximum timing advance is 133, otherwise the maximum is normally 63. (Within ENTERPRISE these thresholds are set on the Coverage/Interference tab of the Array Settings dialog box which you open by selecting Array Settings from the Arrays menu). 13 In the Cell Parameters pane, select to use sub-cell specific or global values. To use values that you have entered in the Thresholds pane as described above, you must select sub-cell specific. If you select Global Values the values entered in the ENTERPRISE site database are used. (Within ENTERPRISE these thresholds are set on the General tab of the Site Database dialog box which appears when you select Sites from the Database menu and click on an individual cell). 14 Click Next. 15 In the Channel Selection pane, select what type of interference you want to be considered for the interference arrays: Co-Channel Only Adjacent Channel Only Co-Channel and Adjacent Channel
If you select Adjacent Channel Only or Co-Channel and Adjacent Channel, the value in the Adjacent Channel Offset pane is used to produce the adjacent channel arrays. You can edit this value if you wish. It is also used to produce the adjacent channel curve used in calculating interference.

16 In the Interference Options pane you can:

Select Use Frequency Hopping To Use Frequency Hopping information when creating arrays. If you have selected Use Frequency Hopping, you can also choose to use Frequency diversity information when generating arrays. This adds a gain to the serving cell signal to simulate the improvement in C/I that frequency diversity provides. The gain applied depends upon the number of hopping frequencies. For more information on the frequency hopping diversity gain value, see the ASSET3G User Reference Guide. The interference array calculations also use a BER to/from C/I conversion when frequency hopping is used. For more information on using frequency hopping, see the ASSET3G User Reference Guide. Use DTX Use DTX information when creating arrays. This means ASSET3G will scale down the power of the transmitter based on the activity factor of the terminal. Using DTX then helps to reduce interference between different cells and to increase the capacity of the system. Scale the interference arrays if the traffic load of a subcell is smaller than the potential capacity of the carriers allocated to that subcell. By comparing the channels allocated to a subcell with the number of channels required by the traffic load, the proportion of channels in use can be calculated and interference reduced accordingly. Use Antenna Hopping Use the antenna hopping gain in the array calculations. Antenna hopping is a transmit diversity scheme in which consecutive bursts of information are transmitted on different antennas. When antennas are exposed to different multipath fading, a diversity gain is achieved. For information on how this gain is calculated, see the ASSET3G User Reference Guide.
Use Traffic
17 In the Erlang Table type pane, select a blocking percentage and select to use either the Erlang B or Erlang C blocking formula. These blocking formulas are described in the ASSET3G User Reference Guide. 18 Click Next. 19 On the Select Schedule page, indicate whether you wish to run your parameter set manually or every: specified number of minutes specified number of days at a specified time specified weekday or number of weekdays at a specified time specified day of a specified month or number of months at a specified time

Note : Before creating 3g analysis parameter sets, ensure you have added a server. For information on how to do this, see Adding Servers on page 23. To create 3g analysis parameter sets: 1 In the left hand pane of the main window select 3g Analysis. Right-click and from the menu that appears, point to Add 3g Analysis and then click either UMTS or CDMA2000. To have all the files in your coverage folder deleted before your arrays are created, select the checkbox provided. 21 Click Next. 22 The Summary page shows the input parameters that you have set and the amount of memory needed to generate your arrays. If you wish to change any of these you can use the Back button to access the appropriate page. You can click on the Auto Setup Configuration button to access the associated dialog box where you can select Array Parameters and Array Types to be excluded from your arrays. This will reduce the time required to generate them. Tip : You can make selections from both the Array Parameters and Array Types lists and the filters will act in combination. Having made your selections, click OK. 23 Click Finish. Your parameter set is listed in the right hand pane of the main window and is ready to be run manually or when specified by the scheduler:
Creating Prediction Parameter Sets

Prediction parameter sets are used to retrieve information from your database, which is needed to create prediction files. To create prediction parameters sets: 1 In the left hand pane of the main window right-click on Cell Predictions and from the menu that appears, select Add Predictions. Starting and Stopping Parameter Sets

Important : Before starting parameter sets, ensure you have selected and configured a suitable server. For information on how to do this, see Setting Up Servers on page 21. By starting and stopping parameter sets, you can manually control predictions. For example, you may want to start a prediction before it is due to be started by the scheduler or stop a prediction before it has completed. To start and stop parameter sets: 1 2 In the left hand pane of the main window, select the appropriate array type. In the right hand pane, right-click on a parameter set and from the menu that appears, click either: Run to start the parameter set - or Stop/Delete All Tasks to stop the parameter set
Working with Parameter Sets

Having created parameter sets you can view, rename, edit and delete them. Note : You cannot rename, edit or delete a parameter set while it is running. Viewing Parameter Sets This enables you to monitor the progress of your coverage predictions and best server arrays as they are generated. To view parameter sets: In the main window in the left hand pane, select the appropriate array type. Parameter sets appear in the right hand pane, where you can view their progress which is shown in the Status column.
Renaming a Parameter Set To rename a parameter set: 1 2 3 In the left hand pane of the main window, select the appropriate array type. In the right hand pane, right-click on a parameter set and from the menu that appears, click Rename. In the dialog box that appears, type in a new name and click OK.

Editing a Parameter Set To edit a parameter set: 1 2 In the left hand pane of the main window, select the appropriate array type. In the right hand pane, right-click on a parameter set and from the menu that appears, click Edit. If you do not have a project open you will be prompted to open one. The wizard from which you created the parameter set then appears and you can make the appropriate changes.
Deleting a Parameter Set To delete a parameter set: 1 2 3 In the left hand pane of the main window, select the appropriate array type. In the right hand pane, right-click on a parameter set and from the menu that appears, click Delete. In the dialog box that appears, click Yes.
Changing Parameter Set Schedules

Important : Before scheduling parameter sets, ensure you have selected and configured a suitable server. For more information, see Setting Up Servers on page 21. You normally set up schedules when you first create your parameter sets. By scheduling parameter sets, you can control the rate at which sites in your network are predicted and re-predicted if found to be out of date. This enables you to continually monitor the state of your network. Note : You can change the schedules and output file formats of parameter sets without having to open the projects with which they are associated. To change a schedule setting: 1 2 In the left hand pane of the main window, select the appropriate array type. In the right hand pane, right-click on a parameter set and from the menu that appears, click Set Schedule (for prediction parameter sets) or Set Schedule/Outputs (for 2g and 3g analysis parameter sets). On the Select Schedule page, indicate whether you wish to run your parameter set manually or every: specified number of minutes specified number of days at a specified time specified weekday or number of weekdays at a specified time specified day of a specified month or number of months at a specified time

About Tasks
When you run a parameter set, ARRAYWIZARD processes it by assigning work units known as tasks to servers. A number of tasks are normally combined into a single "rolled up" task to be sent to a server. On receiving a rolled up task the server unrolls it and processes its component tasks. A task that is currently being processed is referred to as a running task.
Viewing and Deleting Selected Tasks

Once you have started a parameter set running you can monitor the progress of the tasks associated with it. To view the tasks associated with a parameter set: 1 2 3 In the left hand pane of the main window, select the appropriate array type. In the right hand pane, right-click on a parameter set and from the menu that appears, click Show Tasks. From the menu that appears, select the tasks you want to view. You can choose: All tasks Outstanding tasks Tasks with a reported error Tasks that have been completed successfully.
Your selected tasks are displayed in the right hand pane and your choice of filter is shown by the drop down fields in the toolbar.
To view the history of a task: In the right hand pane, double click on a task. - or Right-click on a task and from the menu that appears, click the Show History option.

To delete a task: 1 2 In the right hand pane, right-click on a task. From the menu that appears, click Delete. The task is removed from the list.
Viewing and Deleting Running Tasks

To monitor the progress of tasks that are currently being processed you can view running tasks. To view running tasks: In the left hand pane of the main window, select Running Tasks:
All currently running tasks are displayed in the right hand pane. To view running tasks for a specific project: 1 In the left hand pane of the main window, right-click on Running Tasks.

From the menu that appears, select Show Tasks For Project:
In the Select Project dialog box that appears, select the project you require and click OK. The running tasks for the selected project are displayed in the right hand pane. In the left hand pane of the main window, right-click on Running Tasks. From the menu that appears, select Delete Succeeded Tasks, Delete Error Tasks, or Delete All Tasks as required. In the Confirm Delete box that appears, click OK. The list of tasks displayed in the right hand pane is updated accordingly.

Deleting Tasks for a Parameter Set

You can delete the tasks associated with a parameter set according to their type - for example, you can delete Warning tasks, Error tasks or all tasks. Configuring 2g Display Settings

By configuring 2g display settings you can determine how acceptable and unacceptable network performance areas are displayed on your 2g arrays. Note : You must have a project open to be able to configure 2g display settings. To configure 2g display settings: 1 2 3 From the Project Settings menu, click 2g Display Settings. From the menu that appears, select the array type you require. On the Categories tab: For Best and Nth Best arrays, select the coverage schema that you want to use for the array. (For information on adding or editing coverage schemas see the ASSET3G User Reference Guide). The remaining steps do not apply to these types of array. For Average Connection, Worst Interferer, Total Interference and Worst Connection arrays, select the Interference Units to be used. For Total Received Power arrays go straight to the next step.

In the Category pane you can add, modify or delete coverage bands:
To add a coverage band click Add. In the Coverage Properties dialog that appears, select a colour:
Tip : Choose distinctive colours to represent desirable or undesirable coverage in your network. In the Attributes pane, type a name for the coverage band in the Label field and the number of decibels that this band represents in the Level(db) field. In the Options pane, choose a colour depth and select the Include Summary in Legend check box if you want to display information such as size, resolution and the date that the array was created in the Map View legend. Click OK. To modify a coverage band, select an existing band and click Modify. In the Coverage Properties dialog that appears, edit the colour, label, decibel value and options as required then click OK. To delete a coverage band, select an existing band and click Delete.

Configuring 3g Display Settings

By configuring 3g display settings you can determine how acceptable and unacceptable network performance areas are displayed on your 3g arrays. From the menu that appears, select CDMA or UMTS as required. In the 3g Display Settings dialog box, select an array type. Click the Configure button. Assign colours, visibility settings and MapInfo Export details as appropriate. For more information on these settings, see the ASSET3G User Reference Guide. Tip : Choose distinctive colours to represent desirable or undesirable coverage in your network. 6 7 Click OK. Click Close.
Setting UTM Borders

Best server files are generated for tiles even when the tiles overlap a UTM border. When the Best Server data is merged in a tool such as MapInfo, the merged data contains overlapping best server data sets from each UTM zone. Consequently some areas appear to have more than one Best Serving Cell. To prevent this you can specify the westmost and the eastmost longitude bounds of a project. This ensures that each tile generated in a UTM zone that overlaps a UTM border is reduced so that only the portion of the tile within the UTM zone has a best server file calculated. All tiles will then contain best server data only for the UTM zone in which they were calculated. To set UTM Borders: 1 2 3 From the Project Settings menu select UTM Borders. Select the Use UTM border settings checkbox. Enter West Meridian and East Meridian values in degrees to define your UTM border:

Configuring Your MapInfo Coordinate System

If you use MapInfo software you can configure your MapInfo-based coordinate system from ARRAYWIZARD. To do this: 1 2 3 Select MapInfo Coordinate System from the Project Settings Menu. The MapInfoCoordinate System dialog box is displayed. Select the projection you require from the list available. Click OK.
Your MapInfo.prj file is updated accordingly.
About the ARRAYWIZARD Settings Dialog Box

You can use the ARRAYWIZARD Settings dialog box to: Indicate that succeeded tasks will be deleted automatically. Indicate that a forced shut down will always occur when you shut down a server. If you do not select this option, ARRAYWIZARD gives the server three minutes to close down cleanly, then prompts for a forced shutdown. Indicate that rolled up tasks are to be given a low priority. Indicate that log files are to be truncated at a specified size. Indicate that log files are to be truncated at a specified age. Access database configuration table settings by clicking the Server button. Access registry settings by clicking the Admin button. To access the Settings dialog box: Select Options from the Tools menu.
Configuring Advanced Administrator Settings

To access and if necessary alter the settings shown in the table below: 1 2 Selecting Options from the Tools menu. Click the Admin button in the Settings dialog box.

Configuring Advanced Server Settings

To access the following editable parameters held in the database configuration table: 1 2 Select Options from the Tools menu. Click the Server button in the Settings dialog box.
Determines The interval after which servers will check the database for commands. Commands are things such as shutdown and poll for presence. The amount of time a server can be idle before it is shut down (for Automatic startup type). Default 5 seconds
