Lasting Love Contest and Cheese Party

We had an exciting event in February, with couples submitting their secrets to a long and successful marriage. It was a tough competition with many submissions, but there can only be one winner. We want to congratulate Zenia and David Rybowski for their winning entry. Following the contest we had a wine and cheese social, while listening to the crooning of Michael Danckert.

Historical Presentations
Educational specialist Lianne Harris will be joining us to provide stimulating and entertaining historical presentations. Dynamic workshops and presentations transport the learner into new places and eras, providing a fascinating look into different cultures, ideas, concepts and customs. Lianne has a personal collection of antiquities, authentic artifacts and rare collectables, and combines this with historical costumes to provide an amazing experience! Come and see what she has to offer!

Big Lights, Big City Cabaret Show

We had a special night here in February as a big thank you to all the Community Members. We had a wonderful performance by a group of singers who sang a collection of Broadway hits like New York, New York. Complete with a stage, lights and dcor, we brought Broadway to us! Delicious treats, drinks and friends, it was a night to remember.

One-year Anniversary Family Day

We celebrated this holiday with two days of activities for the whole family. On Sunday the 16th we had musical performances by Alexis and Allison, showed the hit Disney movie Frozen, enjoyed a buffet and topped the evening off with a dance as well as a 6-piece jazz band. On Monday the 17th we had arts and crafts where we made chocolate candy and had our Family Day Social with treats and the musical stylings of Al Matthews. Overall, Family Day shows us how much joy can come from the simple things: dining with loved ones, singing, dancing, and spending time with the ones that mean the most to you. It is a great honour to celebrate with all of you on this memorable occasion of our First Year Anniversary. It is hard to believe that exactly one year ago, we opened V!VA Thornhill Woods doors to the community. It feels like only yesterday we had our first Community Members move in, but now it has developed into a great community filled with not only wonderful Community Members but Team Members and family members as well. Over the past year, we have grown to become part of a big family, where everyone cares about one another and have formed strong bonds with each other. Just like every family, our community is full of lot of laughter, jokes and a shoulder to lean on. With that being said, heres to a new year of cherishing old memories, making new ones and creating lifelong friendships.
