Family Day
Family Day was in full swing this month, with a delicious BBQ lunch to make everybody full and happy. Good food, good friends and of course, family, made this day special for everyone in V!VA Pickering. We followed the lunch with a family day social; everyone enjoyed music by Team Member Kelly and friends, and Marias grandchildren also played some beautiful pieces. All the grandchildren then enjoyed the new Disney movie hit Frozen complete with popcorn, chips and juice. Overall, Family Day shows us just how much joy can come from the simple things: dining with loved ones, singing, dancing, and spending time with the ones that mean the most to you.

Valentines Day
We celebrated the day of love with a day of events. First we had our best pick up line contest, which was full of heartfelt and hilarious one liners, but the winner was George with the pick-up line I really like your lipstick have we met before? The day continued with our Not So Newlywed Game, where four couples battled it out to see who knew their spouse the best. This live game show was amazing to watch, but there could only be one winner, and that titles was won by the wonderful couple Frank and Dinah Bigioni. The day concluded with a Valentines dance, with music performed by the energetic and talented duo of Rudy

and Ester. We felt the love here at V!VA Pickering, and were happy to celebrate it with the whole Pickering family.

Beach Party
We threw away our winter jackets this month and had a Breaking the Winter Blues beach party! With summer dcor, pool activities, Hawaiian shirts and leis, we forgot about the cold winter outside and whisked ourselves away to somewhere warm and tropical. We had the wonderful musical duo of Keith and James who played Caribbean music, complete with steel drums and guitar. There were slushy drinks of Pina coladas and Strawberry Daiquiris and scrumptious fresh fruit. Combined with the singing and dancing, everyone felt the warmth of the summer sun.

Historical Presentations
We want to welcome educational specialist Lianne Harris, who will be joining us to provided stimulating and entertaining historical presentations. Dynamic workshops and presentations transport the learner into new places and eras, providing a fascinating journey to different cultures, ideas, concepts and customs. Lianne has personal collections of antiquities authentic artifacts and rare collectables, and combines this with historical costumes to provide an amazing experience! Come and see what she has to offer!

V!VA Olympics
We held our own Olympics in February, with teams battling it out for the titles of Wii Bowling and Billiards Champions. With the crowds roaring and flags waving, we named our winners! In first place for Wii Bowling was the team of Thelma Duff and Pauline Ball, with a combined
