Lab 15 This is about sharing resources in Windows7 with other users on the home network sharing.

In this lab I learnt how to create libraries and how to add folders via the properties dialog box and configure the group polices under computer management. Learned how to use the Create A Shared Folder Wizard and also learned how to use the command prompt to create new folders and issue the add commands through command promp t to create Local Groups and use the net share to see if the groups Secretariat and Management had the right permissions. Lab 16 This is about encrypting a single file to multiple users through the use of the Advanced Attributes under the drop down menu but selecting the option Properties then General tab then Advance button. In this lab also learned how to encrypt a file using user certificate and also noticed that when the file is encrypted it file name changes to green. Lab 17 This lab was about user account control (UAC) setting. In this able is learn about the four user account setting which were always notify me, Default Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer, Notify me only when programs try to make changes to my computer (do not dim my desktop) and last setting of user account setting is Never notify me when and also learnt how to configure and export user account setting policies through using the local group policy editor. Lab 18 This lab was about how to configure branch cache. Used a elevated command prompt to issue commands Netsh Branch Cache show status to check the Branch Cache Status and issued another command Netsh Brach Cache set service mode=distributed to enable it and to check if it was enable used Netsh Branch Cache show status Lab 19 This lab was about how to configure BitLocker to Go. In this lab I used disk management console to format the USB stick to a FAT32 file system then configured the bit locker to go policy through gpedit.msc. Bit locker to go is a really useful encryption program when you need to keep you work safe when you are on the move and dont want strangers to getting their hands your data.

Lab 20 This lab was about how to configure direct access this was done through the use of the elevated command prompt and issuing Netsh interface ipv6 and so forth and to show if the command worked you had to issue a show command something like this Netsh interface show teredo and so forth and i have also included the screen shot from this Lab.

Lab 21 This was an optional lab I had already configured power plan on my laptop didnt need to do again.

Lab 22 This lab was about how to configure virtual private network (VPN) this was done through the use of the network and sharing centre in Windows 7 and going through various setting through the A connection Or Network wizard and also have attached a screenshot of this lab activity.

Lab23 This lab was about how the control panel in windows 7 to configure updates for the computer. I found of that there are various way of updating a computer like through windows internet explorer browser or by selecting the option of install updates automatically through the windows update part of the control panel and also looked into the local group editor to see how to manage windows update . I have also attracted a screen shot of the Lab.

Lab 24 This lab was about configuring access policy in windows 7 for a USB flash drive. It required me to plug in the USB Flash drive and configure the USB to deny access to this meant I had to use the local group policy editor have also attached a screen shot of this Lab.

Lab 25 This lab was how to use a performance monitor in Windows7 You can use Windows Performance Monitor to examine how programs you run affect your computer's performance, both in real time and by collecting log data for later analysis. In this case I was going to monitor the performance of my system hard disk volume and see the effects through a graph have also added in the screenshot for this Lab.

Lab 26 This lab was about installing Microsoft Windows SDK which meant going to Microsofts official website and downloading the iso file then installing this on to the computer and when I was done installing Microsoft Windows SDK software had to use Xperf.exe to generate traces which meant I use an elevated command prompt to issues these sets of command which were xperf -on Base+Network -f kernel.etl xperf -start UserTrace -on Microsoft-Windows-Firewall -f user.etl xperf -stop UserTrace xperf -stop xperf -merge user.etl kernel.etl single.etl xperf -i single.etl -o c:\mytrace.txt -a dumper . Lab 27 This lab was about how to configure a backup in Windows7 which meant going through control panel and selecting backup and restore to get started doing you backup to where you wanted to save the copy of the backup and afterwards choosing which folders you wanted to have backed up in this backup process also a screenshot has been add for this lab.

Lab 28 This lab was about how to configure system protection. In this lab I learned how to use the system protection dialog box , how to create system restore points manually and how to perform a complete system restore through the use of System Restore application in windows 7 and it is pretty neat and handy and useful feature screen shot has been added for this lab
