EE10, Winter 2013 Circuit Analysis I Instructor: Prof.

Gupta

Homework 4 Assigned: Wednesday, February 6, 2013 Due: Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Part One: Practice Problems (You are not required to submit your solutions)

1. Solve problem 9.17 from the textbook. 2. Solve problem 9.19 from the textbook. 3. Solve problem 9.32 from the textbook. 4. Use superposition principle to obtain a value for the current i1 as labeled in the circuit shown below.

5. Use superposition principle to obtain a value for the voltage vo as labeled in the circuit shown below.

6. Find the Norton equivalent with respect to the terminal a, b for the circuit shown below.

Part Two Problems: You are required to submit your solutions. Q1. (4 points) Solve problem 9.18 from the textbook. Q2. (5 points) Solve problem 9.20 from the textbook.

Q4. (5 points) Use superposition principle in the circuit in Figure1 below to determine the individual contribution from each independent source to the voltage v as labeled in the circuit. Find the power consumed by that 2 resistor which has current i1 flowing through it (as labeled in the circuit).

Figure 1 Q5. (5 points) Consider the circuit in Figure 2 below. A resistor R is connected between terminals A and B of the circuit. Find power dissipated in the resistor R when R = 10 R = 20
