Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier

The ADVA EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) products extend the transmission distance between equipment. They are a series of high gain, low noise amplifiers for transmission, in-line and pre-amplification applications operating in the 1550nm wavelength band. Their compact design, rugged casing and low cost make them suitable for both data and telecommunication applications. The ADVA EDFA is offered as a flexible technology solution for customer specific performance needs. The base design includes a pump module, erbium doped fiber, feedback isolator and signal tap module. Performance options include signal gain, gain flatness, noise figure and optical isolation. The design options are: Pump wavelength, dual or single pump modules, dual or single isolators and a microprocessor control with adjustable remote alarm. These EDFA products are available for both digital and analog systems.
