18 Give no thought to the things which are past; let the early times go out of your minds.

19 See, I am doing a new thing; now it is starting; will you not take note of it? I will even make a way in the waste land, and rivers in the dry country. 20 The beasts of the field will give me honour, the jackals and the ostriches: because I send out waters in the waste land, and rivers in the dry country, to give drink to the people whom I have taken for myself: 21 Even the people whom I made to be the witnesses of my praise. Jehovah is the name used to talk about the existence of God. In the English bible it is written often as LORD or Lord. There many other additions to Jehovah. The name of Jehovah is the basis of who God is. When we think of God we often think of Him as the Creator of all things. In these verses we also find some great things about God. Because we focus on Jesus Christ and His work on the cross, Jesus often pointed to His Father who was the key Person. Isaiah says the same thing here. In verse 7 God writes through Isaiah that ~~ everyone who is named by my name, and whom I have made for my glory, who has been formed and designed by me. Jehovah, the Creator of all things also has a purpose for you and me. Our purpose is to glorify Him. We are designed to glorify Him. This is easy to understand but hard to practice. We get caught in the worship of other things. This is the basis for the commandments to not have other gods beside Jehovah. 12 I gave the word, and made it clear, and there was no strange god among you: for this reason you are my witnesses, says the Lord. Verse 10 follows this idea of who Jehovah is. He is the one who is before and there is not after. In Revelation He is called the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. As we study the names of God we find that we need to understand the power of using Gods name right. When we use Gods name in our prayers we use only one or two names of God. Its like a two dimension God. When we see God as a 3D Person with a 3D character we can see Jehovah more clearly. Verse 18 ~~ Give no thought to the things which are past; let the early times go out of your minds. This is hard to understand. Our past experience is what we learn from. So what is Jehovah saying here? I think if we understand the verses it is what our salvation experience is all about. It is what we often forget when we see new Christians. It is what we forget when we become too critical of those whom God is changing. We see only the outside and ignore the inside.
