Bronte School Headmasters Newsletter

14th March 2014

At Bronte we love dressing up and having fun whilst were learning. After allwhat is the school motto? Wednesdays French Day was one such day. It began so successfully with a French breakfast supported by vast numbers of parents and childrenthank you so much for your support. (Madames French department benefited to the tune of 182 and everyone really enjoyed les croissants, le caf, le chocolat chaud et le jus dorange). We owe so much to Madames organisation and enthusiasm; she would say that its a team effort, which is true, and she would also pay tribute to Cyrille from Le Chat Qui Rve whom we welcome every year and who has such a special ability to entertain and teach. These photographs give you a good idea of what an enjoyable day it was. Mr. Clements was truly amazed by what he witnessed!

When I arrived at school on Monday morning, I was greeted with the news that the school tag rugby team had reached the final of the primary schools competition at Gravesend Rugby Club. Mrs. Rogers commented that the team played some inspirational rugby and showed great skill and determination in beating West Court, Cecil Road and Dover Road. They lost 4-7 to Singlewell in the final. Mr. Owen, who organised the event, praised the children for their excellent participation and the way they had represented the school to such good effect.

Parents Evening is on Thursdaybut not for Year 6 and Year 2. (Mrs. Gordon is involved with Year 5s parents and Mrs. Wood is still recovering from her operation and will not be in school next week). Please check that you know the arrangements. If any parent wishes to see me, please contact the office beforehand so that a time can be arranged. Please note the following, however: Do not assume that children can be left in school at the end of the day (unless you have an appointment before 16.00). Unless pre-booked either for tea or late collection, children should be collected as usual between 15.30 and 15.40. Parents are expected to make their own child care arrangements, if returning later and not bring children back with them.
