All insulation ?ac;etin) an& surface finish materials shall 9e suita9le for local (eather con&itions1 s%ace am9ient tem< %erature &urin) a%%lication or finishin) shall 9e as &irecte& 9' the manufac< turer. Contractor also shoul& calculate an& a&?ust thic;ness of insulation to ensure &esi)n tem%eratures at equi%ment. All a&hesi es a%our coatin)1 mastics1 la))in) an& 9e&&in) com%oun&s shall 9e com%ati9le (ith the materials to (hich the' are a%%lie&. The' shall not soften1 corro&e or other(ise attac; such material in either the (et or &r' state an& shall onl' 9e those recommen&e& 9' the manufacturer of the in< sulation as suita9le for the a%%lication %ro%ose&. Insulation shall 9e clean an& &r' (hen installe& an& &urin) the a%%lication of an' finish. If further &efects are re eale& then the #n)ineer shall ha e the ri)ht1 (hen in its o%inion it is necessar'1 to issue instructions for an' %art or the (hole of the insulation to 9e remo e& an& re%lace&.
