which I get to know something new about someone; helping someone realize that, contrary to what they Dear Church, Sometimes the simplest statement can have a profound impact. During worship on Sunday, Betsy Hillig began her Stewardship Moment with the comment, Im not here to burden you. The Spirit must have conveyed that simple statement directly to my heart, because in my mind I started making two lists: a list of burdens, and a list of joys. Current burdens in my life include the need to pay for new struts for my car; cell phones that somehow always need to be replaced, repaired, upgraded, or accessorized; a nest of termites that seems to have taken a particular liking to the post on my front porch; and the constant pressure to buy new clothes, new furniture, a new house. Current joys in my life include sending kids to church camp (my own kids and others in our church family); times of conversation and fellowship in the have been told, God really does love them; and finding moments to sit in silence and not think about my burdens, but just feel gratitude for life and its many blessings. And I realized while listening to Betsy that this is perhaps one of the greatest gifts the church has given me over the years: the ability to distinguish between burdens and joys, and to find ways to reduce the burdens and multiply the joys. It really is my greatest joy to spread the love of God to all people. And therefore it is never a burden to ask or to be asked by someone else to contribute to the financial needs of the church. I admit Im not the best giver. I am far from the level of generosity attained by many. The burdens still control too much of my life. But every day, with churchs help and guidance, I am able to put a little more focus on the

joys, and give a little less attention to the burdens. I am on my Im way to living more fully for Christ. not yet where I should be, but thank God, Im on my way. And every day, as I learn to cast aside my burdens, I look forward to just a little more joy. Blessings, Pastor Danny

Potato Update.....
What do you get when you cross poison ivy with a leprechaun? A 'rash' of good luck!! I hear your groans, but I had to throw in one more, because we had incredible luck at our St. Paddy's Potato Bake! Thanks to the Lord and wee little folks at BKCC with the most loving, generous hearts, C.E. raised $212 from our luncheon....woo, hoo! But wait, that's not all; John Solan presented a $400 check from proceeds made by the soda machine, which gives us a grand total of $612!! This will provide scholarships and help off-set registration fees for our youth who attend camp at Loch Leven this summer. Thank you, thank you, and God bless you too! In appreciation, Scheri Dubon, Christian Education
