Serial Killer

Look down on me, you will see a fool. Look up at me; you will see your Lord. Look straight at me, you will see yourself.- Charles Man. In reality people usually judge a book by its cover. People often portray to be something that they are not. People may not know what a person is capable of or if theyre harmful to others which might cause them to become serial killers. Most serial killers are sociopaths and have no emotions that normal people have. They mentally dont know how

to show love or sympathy. A rough childhood can play a major part of causing someone to end up as a serial killer. A person never understands what goes on inside a sociopaths mind or what their next move might be, but they are very smart at hiding what they think. It means that they have no limits and are therefore capable of anything; it is a recipe for endless cruelty and depravity. (Healingjorney,1). Believe it or not many people dont know that they are sociopaths, they just think that its all normal and everybody think just like them. This lack of conscience means that it does not matter to them if they trample on the rights, feelings, or safety of others

Albert4

(Healingjorney,2). Some scientific research which has been done also points to frontal lobe disfigurement. Brain scans done on some convicted serial killers show that their frontal lobes are a lot smaller than normal people. By the front lobes being smaller than normal people statics, says any injuries or brain defects tend to have an effect on the violent behavior of a sociopath. Somehow the hypothalamus might be the reason for uncontrollable aggression a serial killer might have. Cases of serial killing share commonalities and characteristics; anger low self esteem, fantasy, facilitation, and objectification of the victims are all common denominators in understanding the etiological rules of serial murder (Hichey, 2010). The

hypothalamus controls the emotions, but due to how close the sexual and aggressive centers within violence become connected well for the lust murderers.

Early life

Any serial killer that was ever identified was abused as a child mentally, physically, or emotionally. The guardians of child were doing a bad job as raising them. They also showed a decreased response to fear imagery and to threats( Katherine

Albert5

Ramsland,3). Theyll have the child in the blind about whats really going on in the real world because they are not their teaching them about the rights and wrongs in life. If the guardian wasnt stable, moved from place to place or worked too many jobs to give the child any attention they need. By the child not having anyone to really take care of them they tend to raise themselves as adults and take a lot of responsibility on their own. The guardian tends to put a lot of responsibility on the child and many times it tends to be too much for the child to handle on their own. The child would have to deal with the consequences when things not done right. Meaning the guardian would try to discipline the child but in a hostile, abusive way. The guardian and the child tend to have a distance relationship because of a grudge the child hold against the guardian for something that ever happened before. The inability to keep a

bond or relationship with the guardian causes the child to become isolated. The dominance of becoming isolated causes a vicious cycle of frustration. Children tend to have a hard time developing and comprehending well. Psychopaths over-respond to distracters, showing reduced ability to focus and cognitive deficits in left hemisphere activation (Katherine Ramsland).By a child being so weak minded they let the fantasys take over their mind. Many of

Albert6

the young serial killers ability to know whats true and whats real and what really isnt dont stay at this point in life. The child slowly learns that everything cant stay forever. They become compulsive lairs and tell people what they perceive and not what might actually happen. Although, they tend to be so clever they lies and amount they day dream seems to get them to fall short behind everybody else in school. He tortured and killed animals, acted out bizarre sexual rituals with his sisters' dolls and once said that, in order to kiss a teacher he had a crush on, he would have to kill her. (Edmund Emil).

Serial killers: Provoked or Pleasure?

The first victim of a serial killer is the most important event of their life because they dont mean to kill them they only kill them out of curiosity. They just want to see what it feels like to actually end someones life. Serial killers find out actually releases their stress and make them feel good about themselves. During their cool off period they tend to become so depressed so they feel like its a must for them to go kill somebody else. Most serial killers are beyond intelligent and they tend to plan their dirty work methodical. They would kill

Albert7

their victim in one place then dispose their body very far away from where the murder happened. A serial killer would work until they have been caught and they are quiet and sneaky about their work. A serial killer would hunt they victim like they hunt animals. Between 1978 and 1991, one well known serial killer was Jeffrey Dahmer. He killed 17 boys and men. Jefferey Dahmer didnt just kill them 17 boys and men, he rape, necrophilia, dismemberment and cannibalism them. When the police went to his

apartment they found out that he was doing sexual stuff to the people by drilling into their heads while they were still alive. Many disorganized killers are known as the hedonist type; Meaning that they kill for pleasure. Jeffrey Dahmer was a hedonist type of serial killer. He grew up as an abandon child because his father walked out on his mother and then his mother and brother left right after that. During his childhood he was molested by his next door neighbor. Jefferey started off small with the killing by chopping the head off animals in his backyard. Then Jeffrey got older and started having fantasys about mutilating men and killing people.Jefferey committed his first murder in Ohio in 1978.Most of all Jeffereys victims was young males and his victim in Ohio was a young hitchhiker. On February 17th, 1992 he was prosecuted but due to his insanity

Albert8

plea he wasnt found guilty. Later on in life Jefferey ended up getting fifteen consecutive life sentences. Therefore, on 16, 1992 he took another life sentence for a murder that happened in 1978. Eventually, Jefferey was murdered in prison November 28th, 1994 by another inmate. Sadly, people tend to do things without thinking. Jefferey never blamed others for his actions. "When you've done the types of things I've done, it's easier not to reflect on yourself. When I start thinking about how it's affecting the families of the people, and my family and everything, it doesn't do me any good. It just gets me very upset." Jefferey told an May

interviewer, "I was completely swept along with my own compulsion. I don't know how else to put it. It didn't satisfy me completely so maybe I was thinking another one will. Maybe this one will and the numbers started growing and growing and just got out of control, as you can see," he continued. As he e In conclusion, there are many ways to a serial killer would take a life and get so caught up in the thrill of killing they wouldnt even worry about getting caught or not. They would only go so far and do so much just to get control. The way a serial killers mind is set up they love to feel like they have major power over something special. By them having all that power to decide if they want to end someones life it tends to make their

Albert9

self-esteem higher. Serial Killers cant control why they kill people or why they would want to do such cruelty things to people. All in all, a serial killer would hunt their victim down like a prey and plan their next move when they lay their eyes on their next victim.
