Sangre Ridge PTA Positions 2014-15

President
ANDREA WILSON, AMANDA FOX Leads board and general meetings. Attends city-wide PTA meetings. Keeps track of all forms and reports due to city and state PTA. Attends state PTA convention in summer. Works with principal on all PTA-related matters. CLAIRE EDWARDS Leads meetings and attends city-wide meetings when president cannot. Responsibilities include finding parents to fill the PTA positions for the following year. JESSICA HALLEY Fills the office of President at the end of the current Presidents term (which can be either 1 year or 2 years). Attends meetings in order to observe how the PTA business is conducted. Schedules parent volunteers throughout the year when needed for special activities such as Picture Day, state testing, etc. MEGHAN CRAWFORD Takes notes of all board and general meetings, types them, and brings them to the next meeting for approval. ERIN ROBINSON Keeps track of and balances the budget. Controls the checkbook for payments and reimbursements. Works with Auditor to complete year-end financial report.

Checks bank statements each month with the Treasurer, helps Auditor review the accounting records and complete the year-end financial report, and fills the office of Treasurer at the end of the current Treasurers term (either 1 or 2 years).

Sets up both the spring and fall Book Fairs. Coordinates, decorates, track finances, organizes volunteers, etc. This committee consists of at least: 2 Book Fair co-chairs, a Decorations chair and a Book Fair Finance chair.

ROBIN JOHNSON*, Andrea Wilson Plans and coordinates graduation activities for the 5 th grade class. ROBIN JOHNSON Communicates information to the homeroom parents of each class. LESLIE BALDWIN* & SASHA HANRAHAN* Keeps Lost & Found area organized by periodically hanging clothes (e.g. once a week). If clothing has names in it, locates those children and returns the clothing to them. Twice a year, notifies parents to go through Lost & Found, then donates clothing that is left. DANA GUETZ Responsible for recruiting parents into PTA and keeping records of membership that are reported to city/state organizations. The Membership Chair needs to be present at Enrollment Verification Day in August.

Oversees playground improvement projects and the outdoor classroom. May work with teachers to coordinate Outdoor Classroom Day in May or that could be a separate liason.

Reflections Torey Widener


Executes the Reflections program handed down from the city/state, providing direction to and answering questions from students regarding their entries.

Running Club

ALYCIA NELSON Organizes and manages the student running club. KRISTY RILEY Monitors and, when needed, directs traffic at pick-up times for the first two weeks of school to ensure parents are following proper traffic procedures. Recruits other parents to help with this task. This person should be comfortable confronting those who arent

complying with pick-up procedures. The Safety Chair should be present at Enrollment Verification Day in August.

Science Night

JENNIFER OWENS, ANGELA MARTINEZ Plans an evening of hands on science activities. Students and parents work together to conduct simple inquiry based science experiments. May coordinate a guest speaker, when available. JENNIFER BLAKE Works with representative from Square One Art to distribute packets and place DANA GUETZ*, ANNE MATLOCK Organizes the Student Directory and has it printed. STACY WATKINS Coordinates the design, sale, ordering and delivery of Sangre t-shirts. Should be present at Enrollment Verification Day in August to take orders. MEGAN MURRAY*, SOMER HORROCKS, KRISTI REESE, STEFANIE LEMON Plans Teacher Appreciation lunches/activities and recruits volunteers to help. This chairperson has an additional 2 to 3 co-chairs to help her/him. At least one person from this committee must be present at Enrollment Verification Day in August. STACY WATKINS*, AMY GALLEGOS, DANA GUETZ Organizes the fall Walk-A-Thon fundraiser, including securing sponsors, music, snacks, etc. AMY PARSONS*, KRISTI RILEY, APARNA KAKANI Works with Jostens representative and leads the student yearbook committee in creating the yearbook. Also includes collecting orders, taking pictures at school events and requesting additional pictures from parents. Must be present at Enrollment Verification Day in August.

Family Appreciation Events: **OPEN** Volunteers to oversee one or more of the small family events throughout the year.
