Subject: University diversity impresses applicants

Ms. Hottle:
A story about University of Marylands increased minority enrollment may have the
power to transform the way our own students and staff, as well as prospective students
and members of other campus communities, feel about our university.

A recent survey by the Office of University Relations found that minority enrollment at
the University increased 8.7 percent this fall. Now, more than seven percent of our
student body is diverse.
