Executive Summary
I will write and organize a safety policy for the company Just Glocks to ensure that no
personal injury or fatality will occur. The issue is Just Glocks does not have a safety
policy in place about the use of lethal weapons. The solution is to create a policy to
prevent any accidental injuries or fatalities and what to do in the case of an injury or
fatality. This manual will be finished by June of 2014. The manual will cost $11.50 for
every hour spent working on it. I am qualified for this work because of my experience
with firearms and my ability to write technically. This safety policy is important to Just
Glocks because consequences of an accident can cost the company a significant amount
of money in a law suit.

Introduction to Proposal on Safety for Self and Customers at Just Glocks Shooting Range.

This proposal will help employees recognize the dangers of having a shooting range as well as
areas that should unavailable to the public. This safety policy will include a section about
appropriate times for weapons to be live and a time for the weapon to have the safety on. This
policy will also have a part that explicitly explains what the term cease fire means.

Problems for Just Glocks

Just Glocks has the following problems:
Access to target section of range without tape or barriers,
No visible printed warning signs.
There is an absence of instruction for novice shooters

One problem is that there is no barrier to prevent a person from accidentally walking into another
persons line of fire. This could cause serious injury or even death. If a person who is new to
the range did not know that the gap between the two metal buildings would be walking into
another persons line of fire serious harm can happen. There are no signs, barriers, or employees
to caution away from that area. These dangerous conditions could lead to a legal battle between
the man who was injured and Just Glocks.
There are no warning signs on the property to give safety reminders. These safety reminders can
help people be safe while firing weapons. The signs that are up are simply ones that ask the
customers to do simple tasks, like returning staplers, instead of signs that head a warning. These
lack of signs and warnings lead to uninformed shooters which can lead to accidents. As one
example if a novice forgets about a round left in a camber the gun is still live and could go off.

The range does not have instruction for those who do not yet know how to fire a firearm. This is
dangerous because an uninformed shooter is a dangerous shooter. If the person cannot handle
the caliber or kick of a firearm they could hit them in the face. Being hit in the face by the kick
of a gun generally scares people into thinking they cannot handle a weapon. This causes Just
Glocks to lose business from those who need to learn to shoot.


Solution

following problems:

This project helps the company by avoiding any serious injuries or possibly fatalities. These
precautions are completely necessary when dealing with something such as a deadly weapon.
These solutions keep people from getting hurt, so that Just Glocks might have a reputation for
being a safe gun range. This will avoid any possible law suits against the company and maintain
a safe recreation for everyone.

Work Plan for Safety for Self and Customers at Just Glocks Shooting Range
I plan to start this project immediately with a rough draft finished on April 7, 2014. The Project
should be finished by May 1, 2014. I plan to use printer paper and a paper clip binding. I will
also put on the Just Glocks logo.

Qualifications for Dakota Stonebrook

I am very knowledgeable about gun safety and maintenance as well as the structure of the gun
range. My qualifications include training with multiple types of firearms. I have training in
Technical Communication through my course work at the University of North Texas.

I look forward to building a functional and binding safety policy for Just Glocks. Guns are
dangerous if misused. A gun range is a dangerous place that needs some type of policy to focus
on avoiding people getting injured and ultimately making people happy to come back and spend
money at a careful gun range.
