Found and listened to in my room "We gotta make a change... It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes. Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live and let's change the way we treat each other. You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do what we gotta do, to survive.
And still I see no changes. Can't a brother get a little peace?" The theme of this lyric and whole song is that the world is in need of a great change. Too many people sit back and let the violence, poverty, and struggle go on or, even worse, contribute to it. This song is a form of speaking out. No symbolism, just hard truths. This song speaks wonders. The most powerful line is, after he is stating what we need to do to change our ways, he says "and still I see no changes." The truth behind this statement is immense. This poem ashes through me a feeling of guilt and motivation to do better. Found and read in my room "I move so swiftly, with so much grace Some call me a mystery And others can't see But in the depths of my valley, I am called Po-e-try" Tupac is describing poetry, or at least trying to, in the best way he can. He uses many symbolisms in the song. Poetry is personied a great deal in this lyric, and the whole song for that matter. There were very interesting words used in these lyrics to describe poetry. Usually the denitions of poetry are so far o! from what poetry really means (because a word's denition and meaning are two completely di!erent things), but this lyric is pretty close. He doesn't give it a meaning per say, but he does describe it as a "mystery to some" and "moving swiftly and gracefully." Very poetic way to describe poetry.
