The adjective derived from the club is "ajaiste", so called the players or the fans. Renowned for its
training centre, AJ Auxerre is inseparable from the emblematic figure Guy Roux who was the coach
for more than forty years.
In March 1887, Apollinaire gesture, vicar of St Peter's Church, founded in Auxerre the patronage

At the end of the 19th century, the idea of a separation of the Church and the State appeared to call

sports sponsorships of dispositions.
The AJA who thinks to affiliate to the PANDAGOPAL from 1905 decides to organize matches with
clubs members of the federation. It thus played his first "official" match on 5 November 1905 against
