SPEAKER PROFILES

Alex Counts founded Grameen Foundation (GF) and became President and CEO in
1997. A Cornell University graduate, Counts commitment to poverty eradication
deepened as a Fulbright scholar in Bangladesh, where he witnessed innovative
solutions being developed by Grameen Bank. He has since propelled GFs philosophy
through his writings, including Small Loans, Big Dreams: How Nobel Prize Winner
Muhammad Yunus and Microfinance Are Changing the World. Previously Counts served as
the legislative director of RESULTS and as a project manager for CARE-Bangladesh.



David Edelstein is the Senior Vice President, Solutions and Regions and leads
Grameen Foundations global initiatives to create innovative and sustainable
solutions to improve lives. Previously, David worked for Microsoft designing
business models to provide affordable technology products for emerging markets.
He also conducted economic analyses and evaluated public policy with the White
House Council of Economic Advisers and with Resources for the Future. He has a
Master's degree in Economics and Public Policy from Princeton University and a
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Economics from Colby College.


Jennifer Meehan joined Grameen Foundation in 2005 as the Founding Director of the
Capital Markets Group, where she led the development and launch of the $30 million
Growth Guarantees product. She now co-heads Grameen Foundations global activities
and sits on the Board of Kashf Holdings Limited in Pakistan. She has worked extensively
with poverty-focused microfinance institutions and other social enterprises across Asia and
supported social investment (through Calvert Social Investment Foundation and the
Aavishkaar India Microventure Capital Fund, among others) over the past 16 years.



Olga Morawczynski is a Program Manager with the Grameen Foundation in Uganda. She
is piloting a new product that mobilizes small value savings via mobile money agents and
links rural individuals to formal banking services. Olgas work has received recognition. She
was awarded a PhD scholarship by Microsoft Research. Her paper on M-PESA was also
noted by the GSMA Development Fund Report as being in the top 20 of the field.




Camilla Nestor oversees Grameen Foundations Financial Services division, which focuses on
innovative, customer-centered product design and building mobile-enabled delivery channels
for the poor. She has 18 years of experience working with commercial banks, rural banks, and
microfinance institutions in the US and abroad. Before joining Grameen Foundation,
Camilla worked at Catholic Relief Services and Citigroup. Camilla holds an MBA
and a Masters degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and a
bachelors degree in Political Science from Colorado College. She is an adjunct
professor at Columbia Universitys School of International & Public Affairs and
serves on the boards of Grameen Capital India and The SEEP Network.





SPEAKER PROFILES

Chandni Ohri is CEO of Grameen Foundation India (GFI), which was established in 2010
as a wholly owned subsidiary of Grameen Foundation. GFI works to increase the scale and
scope of poverty-alleviation there, recognizing the central role a country the size of India plays
in such efforts. Chandni previously served as Director for Asia Programs at Grameen
Foundation. She holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and a
Masters in International Development from University of Washington, Seattle.



Christopher (Happy) Tan leads and oversees Grameen Foundations portfolio and
activities across Asia. Based in Manila, he also serves as our senior representative in the
region. Previously, Happy served as Grameen Foundation's Regional Director for East &
Southeast Asia. He has more than 16 years of experience in development finance, nonprofit
management and public interest law, having worked for ShoreBank Advisory Services, the
Local Initiatives Support Corporation and SALIGAN in the Philippines. He holds an MPP
from The University of Chicago and a JD from the Ateneo de Manila University.
