Sex and the City Trivia Question Answers
1. Walking along the New York City sidewalks after a satisfying tryst, Carrie gets bumped into and
drops her purse. As she bends down to pick up her scattered belongings, a tall, handsome man stops
to help her. It's our favorite Sex and the City man: Big. Bonus Sex and the City Trivia: Big learns that
Carrie has a healthy supply of condoms in her purse. (Extra bonus trivia if you remember exactly
what kind of condoms they were!)
2. After three nights of sleeping with Big but with no sex, Carrie confesses her transgression to
Miranda at the nail salon:
Carrie: I farted. I farted in front of my boyfriend.
Miranda: And?
Carrie: And we're no longer having sex, and he thinks of me as one of the boys, and I'm going to have
to move to another city where the shame of this won't follow me.
Miranda: (sympathetically) You farted! You're human.
Carrie: I don't want him to know that!
3. Steve: "The Joy of Bartending. Hemingway."
Miranda: (trying not to seem charmed) So what, you're funny?
4. Charlotte signs up for a Tantric Sex class, and surprises Carrie, Miranda, and Samantha by telling
them she's signed them up as well. Miranda gets a bigger surprise at the live-action class where she
ends up in a There's Something About Mary hair gel moment.
5. Samantha's date Jeff leaves the dinner table to go to the restaurant's "little boy's room" and
Samantha sees that the jacket he's left on the chair is labeled "Bloomingdale's boys department".
Horrified, she grabs her coat and rushes out, where she runs into a confused Jeff. When she finally
confesses the boys department problem, he responds: "So what? The clothes fit me better, plus
they're cheaper. Where do you shop, the Big and Tall Whore Store?" His outraged response makes
Samantha laugh, and she's charmed into returning to the table with him. Their relationship lasts two
weeks, which as Carrie's voiceover confirms, is a "big" relationship for Samantha.
6. Expecting a blind date with a married couple's friend, Charlotte is horrified when the husband turns
up instead and proclaims his love for Charlotte. Running out into the street to escape this disastrous
turn of events, Charlotte trips and falls right in front of a cab that screeches to a halt mere feet from
her crumpled body. A handsome stranger leaps out of the back seat of the cab and rushes to
Charlotte's aid. Carrie's voiceover informs us that Charlotte has just met Trey, her new "leading
man."
7. Stanford cries out "Oh my God, she's fashion roadkill!" Sex and the City Bonus Trivia: Carrie
manages to get to her feet and continue a proud strut in her jeweled Dolce and Gabbana panties.
8. "Moon River" by Henry Mancini. This Sex and the City episode was made and titled before 9/11,
but aired afterwards, and its nostalgic reverence for New York in fall was made all the more
meaningful.
9. Carrie is the lucky winner. Visiting Miranda and her new baby Brady, she gets an eyeful of Miranda
breastfeeding. Later, at a Fleet Week party, Carrie walks up just as Charlotte uncharacteristically
flashes a sailor she's sitting with. Flabbergasted, Carrie tells Samantha "Why not just show me yours
and get it over with?" Samantha complies, much to the delight of the roomful of partying sailors.
10. In an effort to mellow out the evening, Samantha and Carrie smoke a joint on a street corner.
Samantha steps away to answer her phone just before the police pull up and arrest Carrie. Berger's
post-it luckily manages to win the sympathy of the arresting officer. "Wow, brutal," he says, before
writing her a ticket.
11. Samantha follows Paris Hilton's lead and makes a sex tape of her and Smith. "Make sure to say
'Samantha Jones you are one hot piece of ass--I could f*** you all night long, Samantha Jones',"
Samantha instructs Smith before starting the tape.
12. "I fell," Carrie laments to Petrovsky. "I fell in Dior. So I decided that, the more I purchased, the
less they'd think of me as the American-who-fell-in-Dior!"
13. In the final scene of Sex and the City, Carrie is walking along a crowded New York street when she
gets a call on her cell phone. She looks at the caller ID, and we see the name "John". When she
answers we hear Big's voice, telling Carrie he's putting his Napa home on the market and coming back
to New York.
