BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID (1969)
Despite only co-starring in two flms together, its pretty easy
to think of Paul Newman and Robert Redford as a deeply
entrenched pair. The two established, in a short time, the type
of chemistry some franchise co-stars spend sequels trying to
cultivate. As a pair of outlaws, dedicated to each other as they
were their desire for riches, Newman and Redford perfectly
compliment each other. Amiable nice guys who just happen to
wield guns, the two are the nicest criminals you could ever hope
to fnd yourself in a standoff with. 6/26
E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL (1982)
One of the most ingenious, imaginative, heartfelt, unpreten-
tious science-fction flms ever made, E.T. makes the bold
choice telling a direct story in a simple way. Screenwriter Me-
lissa Mathison uses restraint in her narrative that gives the flm
such a direct emotional impact and Spielberg, who famously
decided to shoot almost every shot at the level of a child,
embraces her gentle approach. And then theres John Williams
beyond classic score and Henry Thomas iconic lead perfor-
mance. Then theres E.T. himself: Brought to life by a practical
combination of ingenuity and technology. 6/12
Girlie Night:
BENNY AND JOON (1993)
As Sam, an oddball Buster Keaton wannabe, Depp displays his
incredible capacity for emotion, his excellent grasp of comedy
and his fair for the eccentric. His characters sweet courtship of
the mentally unstable Joon is studded with delightful reenact-
ments of famous Keaton and Charlie Chaplin bits, and he can
enchant you simply by putting a few rolls on some forks. 6/16
Girlie Night:
SAY ANYTHING (1989)
Sure, he might not have the preppy looks of Andrew McCarthy
or the real genius of Val Kilmer, but Lloyd Dobler is special.
He wears a trench coat! He drives a blue Chevy Malibu! He
kickboxes, which everyone knows is the sport of the future!
Hes great with kids! He watches COCOON with old people,
for goodness sake! And, as if all of those amazing qualities
werent enough, heres the kicker (literally!): he will always, with-
out fail, protect you from broken glass on the street. 6/9
Girlie Night:
SAY ANYTHING (1989)
Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis make the ultimate pair of
feisty gals-turned-outlaws, drawling their way through a spree
of terrible men, Wild Turkey and wilder times. Together, well
fst pump through the ultimate road trip as Thelma and Louise
teach us how to school sexist pigs, take control of our lives
and go out in a blaze of glory. And speaking of glory, need I
remind you of a young Brad Pitts shirtless appearance in this
flm? Hot damn! 6/23
INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE (1984)
If you learned anything from Raiders of the Lost Ark, its that
Nazis are bad dudes, and, after a pulse-pounding prologue that
gives us a compressed Young Adventures of Indiana Jones,
they are right back at it. This time, our swastika-wearing baddies
are after the famed cup of Christ, and its up to Indy and his
dad to save the day. Included in the ticket price is your very own
Holy Grail to take home. Dont worry about completing any of
the tests of faith we think coming here on Fathers Day means
you have Chosen Wisely. 6/15
MY LITTLE CHICKADEE (1940)
In one of the greatest pairings in comedy history, cranky,
drunken misanthrope W.C. Fields meets his match in the sassy
Mae West. These two comedic forces collide in a rampage of
Old West hijinks and outrageous double entendres. This is the
sort of timeless pleasure that exists for one reason only... to
make people happy. West superbly delivers her sexual burlesque
humor full of double-entendres, swagger and wisecracks; while
Fields masterfully runs through his arsenal of witty ad libs and
drunken scam artist routines. Apart from some unforgivable
racism against native Americans, this movie is true fun. 7/3
Spaghetti Western Wednesdays:
FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE (1965)
Clint Eastwood is the Man With No Name, who teams up
with equally lethal Lee Van Cleef in pursuit of a sadistic killer
and his band of desperadoes. Oh yeah, and theres spaghetti.
6/11
THE ABOMINATION (1986)
Prepare to puke! Shot on Super 8mm in Poolville, Texas and
crammed with neon barf, disembowelments, and ambitious la-
tex monsters, THE ABOMINATION is a benchmark in D.I.Y.
trash-gore insanity. See it on glorious VHS for only $1! 6/25

BLUES BROTHERS (1980)
THE BLUES BROTHERS is a movie that spits at boundaries
and labels. Its refuses to be caged and smashes through expec-
tations with every scene change. John Belushi and Dan Akroyd
star as Jake and Elwood Blues, two brothers on a mission from
God to save their old Catholic orphanage the only way they
know how: by putting their old band back together performing
a charity gig. Along the way, they dodge lawmen of every kind,
neo-Nazis, and crazy ex-girlfriends. 6/19
ZZANG!!!:
BILL AND TEDS EXCELLENT ADVENTURE (1989)
Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan are seniors
on the verge of failing history. Their only hope is to deliver
an impressive fnal report on how people from the past would
view the world today. Their success is also the only hope for
the citizens of the future, who rely on the music of Bill and
Teds band Wyld Stallyns to fuel their idyllic society. Thats why
Rufus (George Carlin) is sent back in time to help the guys pass
history and keep the band together. Using Rufus phone booth
time machine, the boys assemble a dream team of historical
fgures to speak at their presentation. 6/24 & 6/30
RETURN TO NUKE EM HIGH VOL. 1
Director and Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman will appear
in person for Q&A!
RETURN TO NUKE EM HIGH, VOL 1, directed by Lloyd
Kaufman, is a hilarious, thoughtful sci-f Event Film with
themes ripped straight from todays headlines: the contamina-
tion and degradation of the worlds food supply, rampant bully-
ing, and LGBTQ love triumphing over prejudice and violence.
The flm, a revisiting of Tromas 1986 CLASS OF NUKE EM
HIGH is in the same vein as other classics such as CLASS OF
1984 and CARRIE, but seen through the unique vision of
Lloyd Kaufman and the Troma Team. 6/3
TRAVIS: A SOLDIERS STORY (2013)
An intimate look into the life of a wounded solider as he faces
the unimaginable physical and emotional challenges of this
life-altering injury. Traviss story sheds light on the daily inward
and outward struggles of our wounded veterans and the dif-
fcult rehabilitation processes they face. Traviss openness and
incredible perseverance will challenge us to look at the way we
deal with our own personal trials. Please join Paragon Com-
munications Solutions, Inc. for a special showing of TRAVIS:
A SOLDIERS STORY followed by a live simulcast Q&A with
SSG Travis Mills himself. 6/10
Tough Guy Cinema:
BAD BOYS II (2003)
IF you can fnd a more exciting event than this, you are prob-
ably signed up to be set on fre before being thrown out of a
plane and diving into a pool full of cocaine. And by all means,
if you are doing that I understand if you miss this event, but if
youre excuse is ANYTHING ELSE...you are a fool. We ride
together, we die together. Bad boys for life. 6/18
Cinema Cocktails:
DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS (2003)
Beaumont sur Mer is a tranquil little town along the French
Mediterranean coast where Michael Caines con man Lawrence
preys on the kindness of women to afford himself quite the
elaborate lifestyle. That is until small-time grifter Freddie (Steve
Martin) rolls through the place and forces Lawrence to share
the secrets of his high-class ways. What follows is an out-con
the con back and forth thats both intelligent and absolutely
idiotic at the same time. 6/17
LETHAL WEAPON (1987)
Written as a spec script by Shane Black, LETHAL WEAPON
not only estalished the template for all buddy cop movies to
come, it established the template for all Shane Black movies to
come. Youve got a Christmas setting. Frequent and creative
use of the F-Bomb and amazingly quotable banter from two
mismatched leads. 6/7
48 HRS (1982)
A cop (Nick Nolte) and a convict (Eddie Murphy) team up to
catch of cop-killer. The frst true buddy cop flm and still one
of the best. 6/14
KISS KISS BANG BANG (2005)
A breezy take on writer-director Shane Blacks trademark buddy
action/comedy oeuvre, a petty thief (Robert Downey Jr.) is
brought to Los Angeles for an unlikely audition and fnds him-
self in the middle of a murder investigation, along with his high
school dream girl (Michelle Monaghan) and a detective (Val
Kilmer) who has been training him for his upcoming role. 6/21

BORGMAN (2013)
A dark suburban fable exploring the nature of evil in unex-
pected places, BORGMAN follows an enigmatic vagrant who
enters the lives of an upper-class family and quickly unravels
their carefully curated lifestyle. Charming and mysterious,
Camiel Borgman seems almost otherworldly, and it isnt long
before he has the wife, children and nanny under his spell
in a calculated bid to take over their home life. However, his
domestic assimilation takes a malevolent turn as his ultimate
plan comes to bear, igniting a series of increasingly maddening
and menacing events.
TOMMY BOY QUOTE-ALONG (1988)
Together, Spade and Farley made up one of the most hilarious
duos in the history of cinema, and well celebrate them at this
special Action Pack screening by quoting along with all of our
favorite lines, i.e. basically the entire movie. Join us for a night
of cow tipping, maniac dancing and deer that arent quite dead.
And fat guys, dont forget your little coats! 7/1
WAYNES WORLD QUOTE-ALONG (1988)
Youll laugh, youll cry... youll hurl. You know the story -- two
slacker friends have a local cable access show that gets picked
up for professional broadcast and things get awesome....NOT!
Wayne falls for the majorly babelicious bass-playing Tia Carrere,
while the slimy Rob Lowe tries to steal her away. Meanwhile,
Garth sha-wings his way into the arms of a truly Foxy Lady,
and then there are all sorts of different endings! 6/2
