I. Education

Language : Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Inggeris and Mathemetaics.

TRAINING
1) Training process will be due to department. Four major departments in the company;
Ticketing

Example of training: The workers will be train to promote a food and beverages to the
customer. Usually the combo set.
They also will be train how to attract the customer.
Projector operation
Example of training: They will train the workers on how to overcome the blackout problem
(if existing). Engineer and senior technician of company will train them.
Cleaner
2) In planning, this company will organize a soft skills training for workers.

3) Progression for new workers:
The worker will give three months to show up their potential in works performance. If the
worker is not work well, they will be given another 1-3 months to improve themselves.
4) Latest event from training department:
On November 2013, two trainee manager from Miri and Sibu branch are been train in main
branch in Star Cineplex,Kuching. For manager training process, they need to be train in 4
major departments. This will take 3-6 months to train them.

Termination

i. Language.
As the lower level of employee is mostly Melayu, some of they are not very well in English. This
cause the difficulty in communicate with the customer such as foreign, Chinese and else. As the
higher level is mostly Chinese, they can speak in mandarin and English. Sometime, in this two
level of organization will produce misunderstanding problem. But somehow, no racist problem
are existed.

On 1997, before this company move to the Medan Pelita, they are located nearest to Sunny Hill
School and the company name is New Roxy Cinema. After they moved, they exchange the name of
company to Star Cineplex. This company has 4 (Kuching, Miri, Bintulu and Sibu) branches in Sarawak and
one at Sandakan, Sabah.
Overall of the staff number is 55 persons include manager and coordinator.
