P: Let us approach Gods Throne of Grace:
C: O Lord, our Maker, Redeemer and Comforter, We are
assembled in Thy presence to hear Thy Holy Word. We pray
Thee to open our hearts by Thy Holy Spirit that by the
preaching of Thy Word we may be brought to repent of our sins,
to believe on Jesus in life and in death, and to grow day by day

C Lord God, heavenly Father, You preserved the teaching of the
apostolic Church through the confession of the true faith at Augsburg.
Continue to cast the bright beams of Your light upon Your Church that
we, being instructed by the doctrine of the blessed apostles, may walk
in the light of Your truth and finally attain to the light of everlasting
life; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and
the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

The Sacrament of the Altar
P Beloved hear these Words offered in the Augsburg Confession by the
Lutheran reformers: Of the Use of the Sacraments they teach that the
Sacraments were ordained, not only to be marks of profession among
men, but rather to be signs and testimonies of the will of God 2] toward
us, instituted to awaken and confirm faith in those who use them.
Wherefore we must so use the Sacraments that faith be added to believe
the promises which are offered and set forth through the Sacraments.
C We give thanks to God for the witness and faith of these men who
with great courage and conviction believed on the promises offered in
the Word and in the Holy sacraments.
P Let us draw near to God in faith to receive these elements of promise.
The Words of Institution
* Lords Prayer (Sung)
Prayer Before Communion (Spoke Together)
Lord, I am not worthy to be a guest at your holy table. But you
are the friend of sinners, and you will not cast me out. This
bread is your body, which bore my sins upon the tree. This wine
is your blood, which purifies me from all guilt. At your
invitation, I come rejoicing. Receive me, my Savior. Amen.

HYMN #: 433 THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IN EVERY AGE
Postlude

I was glad when they said let us go unto the house of the Lord!
Psalm 122
Who are we as the North American Lutheran Church?

Christ-Centered

We confess the apostolic faith in Jesus Christ according to the
Holy Scriptures. We affirm the authority of the Scriptures as the
authoritative source and norm, according to which all doctrines
should and must be judged (Formula of Concord). We accept the
ecumenical creeds and the Lutheran Confessions as true witnesses
to the Word of God.

Mission-Driven

We believe that the mission of the Church is to preach the Gospel
and to make disciples for Christ. We believe that making disciples
in our congregations, in our communities and nations, and
around the world must be a priority of the Church in the
present age.

Traditionally-Grounded

We affirm the ecumenical creeds and the faithful witness of the
Church across time and space. We endorse the form and practices
of the universal Church that are consistent with Scripture,
particularly the office of the ministry and the tradition of worship
under Word and Sacrament. We seek dialogue and fellowship
with other Lutheran churches and with faithful Christians of other
confessions.

Congregationally-Focused

We strive to be a church that is organized to facilitate the
ministries of local congregations in a posture of servant-hood and
a spirit of partnership, through the provision of resources,
connections and information.

PRESENTATION OF THE AUGSBURG CONFESSION

ORDER FOR CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS
P: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

C: Amen

P: Make us to know your ways, O Lord, and teach us your paths.
Lead us in your truth and teach us, for you are the God of our
salvation; for whom we wait. (Psalm 25:4-5)

C: Amen

P: If we say we have fellowship with God while we walk in
darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth; but if we
walk in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the
blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:6-7)

P: Have mercy on us, O God, according to your steadfast love.

C:According to your abundant mercy, blot out our
transgressions. Wash us thoroughly from our iniquity and
cleanse us from our sin. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and
put a new and right spirit within us. Cast us not away from
your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from us. Restore
to us the joy of your salvation, and uphold us with a willing
spirit. Amen (Psalm 51:1-2, 10-12)

P: Let it be known to you, that through Jesus Christ, the
forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. (1 John 1:6-7)
He commanded us to preach and to testify that he is the one
appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. To him all
the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him
receives forgiveness of sins through his name. (Acts 10:42-43)

C: Amen

HYMN OF PRAISE: GLORY BE TO GOD THE FATHER

1 Glory be to God the Father,
Glory be to God the Son,
Glory be to God the Spirit:
Great Jehovah, Three in One!
Glory, glory
While eternal ages run!

2 Glory be to Him who loved us,
Washed us from each spot and stain:
Glory be to Him who bought us,
Made us kings with Him to reign!
Glory, glory
To the Lamb that once was slain!

3 Glory to the King of angels,
Glory to the Churchs King,
Glory to the King of nations;
Heav'n and earth, your praises bring!
Glory, glory
To the King of glory sing!

4 Glory, blessing, praise eternal!
Thus the choir of angels sings:
Honor, riches, pow'r, dominion!
Thus its praise creation brings.
Glory, glory,
Glory to the King of kings!
