World Cup 2014

Turner Pool Rules

1. In order to participate in the pool, you have to submit the entry fee of 100,000VND which will go into the prize pool
2. Anyone may participate more than once if they choose, but it is 100,000VND per chance
3. Pool is open to Turner team members and their family. Any additional entries must be approved by the
Administrator of the pool (Andrew - adefonzo@tcco.com)
3. The Final Prize will be split as follows:
1st Place - 75% of the total prize pool
2nd Place - 25% of the total prize pool
4. There are 2 stages to the World Cup Tournament, and so there are 2 stages for this betting pool.
Stage 1 - Group Matches ---- ALL SHEETS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY WEDNESDAY 11-JUNE BY 8:00 PM (HCMC time)
During the first stage of the World Cup (Group Matches), choose a 1st & 2nd place team from each group
*2 Points are awarded for each correct team and place
*1 Point is awarded for each correct team though placed incorrectly
For Example:
Your Pick for Group B: 1st Place - Chile
2nd Place - Australia
Actual Results for Group B: 1st Place - Chile
2nd Place - Netherlands
You would receive 2 points for correctly placing Chile in 1st place for this group
Another Example:
Your Pick for Group B: 1st Place - Chile
2nd Place - Australia
Actual Results for Group B: 1st Place - Netherlands
2nd Place - Chile
You would receive 1 point for correctly picking Chile, but in the wrong place
Total Possible Points for Stage 1 = 32
Stage 2 - Championship Brackets ---- ALL BRACKETS MUST BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO FIRST MATCH BEING PLAYED
During the second stage (Championship Brackets) fill out the brackets based on actual qualifiers
*Points are awarded for each correct pick in each round of matches as follows:
Quarter Finals - 4 Points each
Semi Finals - 8 Points each
Finals - 16 Points each
Champion - 24 Points
Total Possible Points for Stage 2 = 120
6. In case of a tie for 1st Place:
7. In case of a tie for 2nd Place:
The same method used for 1st place will be applied, the difference being the loser of the 2nd place tie will win nothing
8. In case there is still a tie after the above method is used, or in case of 3 way or more ties for either 1st or 2nd place:
A determination will be made to fairly resolve the outcome by a consensus of the people involved
*When the official results are available, fill out the bracket to choose who you feel will win in each round all the
way through the championship match. The entire bracket must be filled out prior to the first game being
started. Also be sure to fill in the total number of goals you believe will be scored in the Championship
Match.
5. Based on the total number of points accumulated in both Stage 1 and Stage 2, a winner and 2nd place finisher will be
determined
The Person who chose the closest to the total number of goals in the Championship Match will be the 1st Place winner,
and the other person will be the 2nd place winner
