July 16, Wed.-Bowmansville District Sewing Circle will meet at the Bowmansville
Mennonite Church in the morning and afternoon. Please bring your lunch if you can
stay all day. Work will include knotting comforters, quilting or sewing on a sewing
machine. The project for July is Relief Kits. In recent years, kits have been sent to
countries including Jordan, Honduras and Iraq. To make a kit, place the following
new items, in their original packaging, in a large box or bag and bring to the church.
Sewing Circle will see they are taken to MCC for distribution. Items: 4 large bars
bath soap, 1 plastic bottle shampoo (13-24 oz; placed in resealable plastic bag), 4
large bars laundry soap (Fels Naptha, Sunlight, or Zote brands), 4 adult-size
toothbrushes - (MCC will provide toothpaste), 4 new bath towels (med. weight,
dark or bright colors), 2 wide-tooth combs (6-8 inches), 1 fingernail clipper (good
quality), 1 box adhesive bandages (min. 40 count, assorted), 1 pkg sanitary pads
(18-24 count thin maxi). If you do not wish to make a complete kit, donations of

-HELP IRAQIS THROUGH MCC: As armed conflict forces Iraqis from their
homes, MCC is providing vital items for daily life and is planning an ongoing
response. MCC also is calling on U.S. lawmakers to oppose military intervention in
Iraq and instead to send humanitarian aid. Please help us reach a goal of 12,000
hygiene kits and 3,000 relief kits for uprooted Iraqis and others in the region. Gifts
of money support MCC's efforts with partners in Iraq to both respond quickly and
continue long-term efforts that build peace. More info is available online at
mcc.org/get-involved/kits and donate.mcc.org/iraq or by calling 1-888-563-4676.
The Action Alert at mcc.org/advocate-iraq provides a simple way to contact your
representatives and the president. Thank you for partnering with MCC to help
uprooted people and for your ongoing prayers for peace in the region.
