Who is my hero Have you ever thought who your hero was? Everyone must have a person who inspire them in their lives, past or present, alive or dead that has shown them the way, either through their actions or words. When I heard this question, I started question myself that who is my hero in my world. Hero is a person who has exceptional courage and nobility. He is an influence and an achiever like no other. They always come through for us when we are in need of help .They are considered a role model in our life. When you thought about hero, Superman, Spiderman, Batman even Thor will come across our mind. My personal favorite hero is Thor because he gave up his love so that he could protect his people. However, all of them are world hero and everyone is worshiping them. Therefore, I want to talk about my own world hero and it might be I am the only one who worships him. That person that I worship is a person who always showed selfless and endless caring to me. I wouldnt even be born in this world without him. My hero would have to be my father because so much of what I am now and know about being a person and living a life is because of him. He is somebody I can look up to. My dad is my hero, friend, mentor and everything. He is tough but fair and had lots of love. He would do anything to support and care for his family. He is a hard worker doing his very best to keep a roof over my families head and food on our plates. He puts family above anything else. He loves unconditionally, puts others before himself and so much more. He is generous and very unselfish. He sacrifices so much just to give me the best and that means the world to me. He is my hero now and always. My dad is a businessman that own and run a grocery shop. He built his own business and opened a grocery shop with his bare hands without asking for any help. My father grew up dirt poor and went through a lot of hardship to get his family moving forward and successful. He never let fear, his environment, or excuses get in his way from providing his family with everything we could have ever wished for. Not the family he created but his own family, parents, brothers and sisters. He was the oldest son among all of his sisters and brothers. He worked at a very young age so that his younger brothers and sisters would be able to go to school and become successful. He then worked countless hours so he could provide the best and able to send his kids to school to get proper education. We all turned up so great. My sister is an event organizer. My brother turned up to be a doctor. I am studying Bachelor Degree in TARC College. The best part was that he never asked for anything in return nor complained about doing it. He just did because it came out of him and his heart. He told us that we are his greatest achievement he ever did, but I have to say you are my greatest gift that I ever received in my life. Besides, he put me through the best school possible and always told my brother and I to never give up and to keep going no matter what and to achieve your goal in whatever field you choose to study. At my 18
years old, I was leaving them and went to big city Kuala Lumpur for further studies. I still remembered that day he drove me to the bus station because I going to start my first day of college life in next day. He said nothing to me and just standing there and watched me walk into the bus. Frankly, I was a bit surprised because he is a quite nagging person. My mother told me that he cannot deal with saying goodbye to me that time. So he was chose to say nothing. He might look like a difficult person to get close with, but in actual fact he has a warm heart. Every day without fail I would receive calls from him at night after he finishes his work. There are days where he did not call me because he fell sick or have too much work that he cannot finish. I always felt so guilty to him because he is working so hard for giving me the best as possible. He is always asking me the same question during phone call. Have you had your dinner? and how is school going? are the two common questions he will ask. He told me not to keep pushing yourself if you are ever feeling stress about studies and just try to enjoy your study life. At that moment, I felt like I am the lucky girl that having such amazing father. Furthermore, he always told me that believe in yourself and never doubt yourself. He made me think that I can beat up any upcoming challenges. He will always back me up no matter what decision I made. He taught me how to be independent and how to question versus accept everything I see and hear. He has taught me to learn from my mistakes and try to take things easy and to deal with them no matter how hard it is. He was a very proud man and through his example. He did not finish his high school but he is the wisest man I ever known. He has always been there for me if I need some advice, it seems he knows you need help without you telling him. It's unbelievable how caring he is for other people. Greatest advice he ever taught me is friends always are the most valuable asset we ever have in our life. We can depend on parent when we at home but we have to depend on friends when we living outside without parent present. He always said that do not make any enemy and try to be generous and kind to every single of them because one day you might actually need them to back you up. Made them become your friend who will fully support you instead of some kind of friends who will talk something bad behind you. You can see how wisely man of my dad is from the advice he taught me. My dad works for 365 days and he never rest. There is no holiday for him. He even works during Chinese New Year. Everyone in my town have so much respect for my dad. They always compliment him that he is the most hardworking person they ever met. A day never goes by without someone telling me that my dad is "so cool" or that "Your dad is awesome" or something of that sort. And I tell them back:"Yeah, I know!" Because of his hard work, he is a quite a successful businessman in my town. However, he also got a lot of slight illness because of this. He got body aches every day after finished works. My father is my hero because he takes care of me when I am sick, and when he gets hurt he doesn't sit down and cry or asked to be left alone, he simply just put treatment himself and then goes back to what he was doing. My brother and I often asked him to take a rest during weekend. But he always refuse and said who is going to pay all of your school fees if I not working?. That is why I always study hard to show him that all your hard work for me will be pay off one day. A good result is the only thing I can give him as a return now. Like I said, he never go to travel because he working 365 days. The furthest country he ever visited is Singapore when he was still a teenager before he marry my mother and one time went there with us. Can you imagine how much he sacrificed his life and dream just to give us have a better life. I travelled to a lot of places but he never complain about it. He told me that teenager like me should be travel a lot to see the world. An old man like him should not waste the money to travel. I almost cry when I heard this and I made a promise to him that I will send him and my mom all around to world to enjoy their life after I start working. I will do anything for them to repay back all the sacrificed he made for me in order for me to have a better life and education. He is a great example of a leader who is caring, dedicated to his kids, and daily sacrificed his needs and dreams to support those hopes and expectation he had for me. When things get tough you can always count on him to have the "nothing is impossible" attitude. He has taught me the importance of going the extra mile for yourself and others. It's amazing to know that after all he has done all he really asks for in return is for their kids to be successful in what we want to accomplish. He always told me that I do not need your money and I just want see you succeed in life. No matter how old we were, they always treat us like a baby. They think they have to be responsible for taking care of us until the day they died. Conclusion, he is one of my biggest motivation to succeed and be the best I can be, no matter how hard or how long I have to work at it to achieve my goals. He has done a lot of great things for me and has gone all the way to make my life as best as it could be. He has put up with so much and I sometimes forget that. My dad is not just my hero because he is my dad, but because he is a great person and role model to society. I had the smartest dad on the face of the planet. Perhaps not in the standards of our society but my dad is the kindest, gentlest, most understanding and compassion person I have ever known. Superhero is using superpower to protect us but my dad is using his selfless love to protect me. I love you, dad. You are the best dad that all the children ever asked for. You are irreplaceable.
