Reflection on The LGA 3104 Coursework

For the last part of the LGA coursework, we need to prepare a drama
presentation. This is when we have to be the actress and decide on our own how we
will deliver our chosen characters. Before we perform our play we had to undergo a few
processes such as selecting, adapting and last but not least process of performing. t is essential and
vital for us to be fully prepared before performing our play. All the important aspects need to be
considered before we perform the play. This is to prevent any unwanted incidents to happen during
the performance. There are many plays to choose from. !ach and every one of our group members
plays has their own advantages.
The process of choosing the suitable story is already a challenge because have
never done this type of activity before. Therefore did not know what type of story will
suit me better. Therefore search for various types of children"s story and analyse one
by one in order to get the suitable story for the drama play,
Getting back on my reflection, before we perform our play we had to undergo a few
preliminary process. #uch as, the process of selecting, process of adapting and last but not least
process of performing. t is essential and vital for us to be fully prepared before performing our play. All
the important aspects need to be considered before we could perform the play. This is to prevent any
unwanted incidents to happen and befall on us. n the midst of selecting the script to be used for our
group play, we had a minor setback. There are so many good script to choose from, each and every
one of our group members script have their own strong $ualities. t took us $uite a while to pick the
most suitable and appropriate script to be used for our group play. n the end we had agreed upon,
using my own script, entitled %"&ansel and Gretel"" for our play.
The script is the most important aspect of the pro'ect. The script is the blueprint or template of
the play. Like a blueprint for a physical construction, such as a house or multiple level building, if
it"s faulty the building will fail. t is impossible to envision a play without a script, as the script is the base
for what appears onstage. (e choose this script is because it has five characters and they are five of
us in the group.Then, we developed the script and adapt the story according to our own since the
story have many versions. The script is one of the important aspects of the pro'ect. t is impossible to

The reason why we chose the story &ansel and Gretel is mainly because, it contain most of
the important aspects that are re$uired for what a good script should have. t is a very wise decision for
me because we really need to consider all the aspects before performing such as the moral values
inside the story, the theme, the plot, setting and the character in the story as well. t will make our
planning and preparation of the play much easier.

awkward while practicing my part. This is because did not memorise the script yet and
also have )ero e*perience in drama play. To overcome the first problem, printed out
the script and take them with me wherever go. #o, whenever have the chance to
read, will read it and slowly began to memorise the script of . And then when started
to practice, notice that can rephrase the sentence in the script to make it simpler so
that it is easier for the play. For the second problem, overcome it by watching and
reading videos and information on the most interesting way to do a drama play. #ome of
it is very useful while some if it does not suit my style. am too shy to act and cannot
bear people focusing on me for too long.
+uring this stage, we need to check again the flow of the play according to the script. There
might be some scene that we need to adapt and change so that actors will be more comfortable in
performing .,ur group was the last group to perform on that day. +uring our group performance on
the stage, the audience seems to fairly like it. Although it was $uite hard for them to focus because the
room was small, they still gave their attention to our play. The play went smoothly but there are still
some problems we had encountered while performing, mainly because of our own errors and slight
problems with the -owerpoint slides. (e should have checked it thoroughly before performing.
.evertheless, we manage to complete the play well. -ersonally, must say that should be thankful to
those who give their full cooperation and commitment when our group was doing the play. think
need to control myself more and learn to have confidence in myself because realise
that my lack of confidence is what usually bring me down in every presentation.
Through this e*perience have learned so many new things. learn that you can
whatever you desired to if you put your passion as your guideline. never thought that
would be able to finish the play. This e*perience has also given me new perspective on
the ways to teach. believe there are so many interesting ways to teach, and drama
play is definitely one of the ways. also learnt that still have a long way to go
becoming a good speaker as tend to mi*ed up my grammar when being in nervous
state. #o in the future, will try hard to perfect my language as believe it is an
important aspect because a teacher is bound to speak.
At the end of the day, had gained so many inputs while completing this
assignment. had learned many useful acting skills and how to plan and prepare a play and also
performing it on stage. (orking in a big group had taught me to be more cooperative and to contribute
all my efforts and give full commitment when working as a group, to achieve great results and
outcome. learned how to be more patience and selfless, put the group needs before me in order to
complete the ob'ective of the assignment. All of this e*perience will benefit me in the near future and
surely will cherish all the moments we shared together in completing this assignment.

also /adam swander. e*pect nothing more than a successful delivery but receive
more than that. This e*perience have been a very great e*perience as it has given me
the chance to evaluate myself and it has also given me the chance to learn new things.
