Objectives

1. To study personal, socio-economic and psychological characteristics of grape exporting


farmers
2. To study the various documentation in respect of export procedure
3. To study the different types of constraints faced in export by the grape exporting farmers
4. To provide suggestion to organization regarding problems in export procedure.
IMPORTANCE OF STUDY
In todays market exporting plays an important role. The over all economy largely affected by
export of various product.the export procedure requires various documentations and other
formalities.This study work help to understand nature of export procedure related to grapes and
identify various problems related to export. Such study helps to improve export position by
understanding various issues related to export procedure.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
The sources of data collection in this project are as under;
1. PRIMARY DATA:
The primary data have been collected through interviews of respondents.
A questionnaire appended at the end.
2. SECONDARY DATA:
The data relating to the company and addresses of respondents has been obtained
from the trader.

Scope of study
This study cover export procedure and problems related to grapes growing farmer. The study
cover area of sangli district only. For study purpose 50 farmers are selected.
Limitation
1. The study cover only sangli district
2. The study cover only issues related with grapes exporting.

Above table shows that 60% respondents are exporting grapes in past 5 years , 28 % respondent
exports for more then 5 but less then 10 year while 12 % respondets export for more then 10
years.As we can see that in last 5 years the export conditions have become favorable for the
exporters. The availability of proper agri inputs by the middleman is one of the reason behind
the positive signs for the farmers.

Above table indicates that 24% respondent makes direct export while 60% respondents through
agents and 16% respondents through other sources. As the agents having the proper knowledge
and infrastructure, they are able to pay the amount in time to the farmers.

Documentation process is time taking process. In export every year the documentation
regulations changes. This is not available easily. Due to lack of coordination of the govt and
farmers. Technical know how are known to the middleman /org. only. It takes a qualified and
experienced manager. This becomes difficult for any org.

Above table indicates that all farmers requires to conduct quality test. Quality control or
checking is very important process because it s directly dependent upon the export of the fruit. If
it is not according to the norms the export of that fruit may stop and loss may occur.

Above table indicates that nearly 80% respondents thinks that quality control norms are very
high and ime consuming. Nearly 105 test are required for exporting grapes.

requirement norms demotivates farmers from exporting of grapes. It is. Lack of education /
literacy cause a major problem to fulfill such requirement
