CCSA visits the Brooklyn Grange in

Long Island City, Queens.

What are we going to
see?

We are going to a farm on top of a
building! We will see chickens, dirt,
rocks, flowers, and plants.

with?

Tripper and Ms. Josies class will go
together with Ms. Kate.
WHERE?

Where will we go?
The Brooklyn Grange. It is located in
Long Island City which is in the
Queens Borough. It is a farm on a roof
of a tall building.
WHEN?

When will we go?
Friday, July 25
th
. We will leave at
9:15am. Our tour starts at 10:30 and
ends at 12:00. If it is nice out, we will
go to a park and eat lunch after our
tour.
WHY?

Why will we go?
Our theme this session is Urban
Science. This is a great place that lets
us see urban science in action!

How will we get there?
1. Walk from CCGS to the Essex Street Subway
Station. Here is one way you could walk.

2. Next, we will take the M train uptown
heading towards Forest Hills 71
st
Street.
We will get off at the 36 Street stop.



We will be in the M train for approximately
25 minutes.

These are the stops we will pass:

o Broadway - Lafayette Street
o W 4 Street - Washington Square
o 14 Street
o 23 Street - 6 Ave
o 34 Street - Herald Square
o 42 Street - Bryant Park
o 47-50 Streets - Rockefeller Center
o 5 Avenue
o Lexington Avenue
o Court Square
o Queens Plaza

o Get off at 36 Street

3. We will exit near intersection of RT 25A
(Northern Blvd) and 36
th
Street. We will
walk east on RT-25 A (Northern Blvd)
towards 37
th
Street.












4. Last, we will arrive at 37-18 Northern
Blvd. This is the Brooklyn Grange!




After the tour, we will go to a
park and eat lunch.




How do we go back to CCGS?
1. Walk to 36
th
Street subway stop. Walk
west on RT-25A (NORTHERN BLVD)
towards 37TH AVE.








2. Take the M train towards Middle Village
Metropolitan Ave.




We will be on the M train for
approximately 25 minutes again.

o 5 Avenue
o 47-50 Streets Rockefeller Center
