1. The purpose of the project is to give you an opportunity to develop a set of important skills, including team-working skills, critical thinking, and academic writing skills. 2. As a part of the project, you will develop a profile of an Omani company that has international business operations. To do this, you can choose to collect primary data or secondary data. 3. The profile should contain, among others: a. History of the company b. Products or services offered c. Organizational chart or structure d. International business operations e. Financial performance or business growth f. Conclusion: Lessons learnt from the exercise (individual contribution) 4. Because of the nature of the project, there is a possibility that students will resort to copying and pasting. To ensure that such practice is not committed, a. The assignment will be checked for its originality b. Students are encouraged to collect data/information not only from the companys website, Google but also from other secondary sources such as the companys annual report, newspaper reports, business reports, academic articles, etc.
Requirements of Written Report (15%)
1. The report should use Times New Roman 12, double spacing, fully justified. 2. Length of report: between 2000 and 2500 (excluding references). 3. Referencing style: APA (please visit www.apa.org for more details). 4. Cover page should include: a. Student name and ID (in ascending order) b. Course code and name c. Title of assignment d. Date of submission e. Word count 5. Staple once on the top left-hand corner of the report. 6. Submit soft copy documents (in Word and PDF) and hard copy document on or before 14 May 2014, in class. 7. Send soft-copy documents to: faridah@squ.edu.om and faridah@uum.edu.my. 8. Save your soft-copy documents as: groupleadersname_MNGT2515_Section30. For example: Maha_MNGT3513_Section30.pdf and Maha_MNGT3513_Section30.docx 9. Marks will be deducted if any of the requirements is not met.
Requirements of Presentation (5%) 1. Presentation will take approximately 15 minutes per group. 2. The number of slides is between 8 and 10. 3. Slides should be attractive and informative (try to avoid too many texts in a slide). 4. All group members should present as marks will be given to individual members and to the group as a whole.
