School Directory (201415) 10
November 2013
Dear Parents,
We are excited to present a parent guide to the 2013 Performance
Management Framework (PMF), a tool the DC Public Charter
School Board uses to assess school performance.
We hope you use this on-the-go guide as you visit schools, meet
with teachers, and take part in your childs education in other ways.
Inside you will nd lists of schools that have PMF scores and fall
into one of three tiers: high performing (Tier 1); mid performing
(Tier 2); and low performing (Tier 3). There is also a directory of all
DC public charter schools with each schools program(s) listed.
PCSB has even more tools online to help you learn about school
performance. Visit data.dcpcsb.org to see school performance
data on early childhood and adult education programs. You also
can download the MyDCcharters app at dcpcsb.boopsie.com
to view school performance data on your phone or other mobile
device.
As the sole authorizer of DC public charter schools that now serve
nearly 37,000 students, we thank you for considering public charter
schools for your family.
Sincerely,

John Skip McKoy Scott Pearson

HOW DO I GET A SPACE
FOR MY CHILD?
DC charter schools are public schools that are free for all DC residents. Any DC
student can attend a DC public charter school that has available space, but families
must complete an application to request space at a charter school. When schools
have more applicants than available spaces, a lottery determines which students will
be offered space.
Introducing My School DC
For this coming school year (201415), most DC PK312 public charter schools are
participating in My School DC.
My School DC is a common application and a common
lottery for public charter schools and District of Columbia
Public Schools (DCPS). Starting December 16, 2013, families
can access the common application at MySchoolDC.org.
Key dates
December 16, 2013: Application is available at MySchoolDC.org.
February 3, 2014: Deadline for high school (grades 912) applications
March 3, 2014: Deadline for early childhood, elementary, and middle school
(PK3grade 8) applications
March 31, 2014: Lottery results released
May 1, 2014: Deadline to accept a space offered through the lottery. Accepting
a space requires turning in all required enrollment forms for the school where you
are enrolling, including proof of residency.
*Message and data rates may apply.

EARLY CHILDHOOD

EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Early childhood and adult
education public charter school

individual performance targets. PCSB
used two methods to measure the
performance of these programs:
Accountability Plans and a PMF
Pilot.
