RANGERS MANAGER RON WASHINGTON:

On Miles Mikolas outing

He was very good. Executed all of his pitches, stayed focused I think the only mistake he made tonight was the hanging
breaking ball on the 1-2 count to Logan Morrison. Other than that, he was right where he wanted to be. Used all of his
pitched extremely well.

On his reputation as a strike thrower

He is still a little in consistent, but I think youve got to give him a lot of credit for what he did tonight against a team thats
very hot theyve been playing very well, and scoring runs. Tonight is a step for him in the right direction. He has had
quite a few games where he has gotten us deep into the ball game, and really didnt exert himself as far as pitch count
goes and like what you said, he does throw strikes. Its a matter of learning to shut innings down and tonight he was
able to do everything he needed to do as a pitcher. He deserves a lot of credit, he did a great job.

On his changing speeds

Well he can change speeds, but once again, hes still go to work on his consistency. Consistency of putting pitches where
you need to. He did a tremendous job tonight, certainly like what hes been doing and he just pitched an outstanding
game.
