Vocabulario
In Spanish the s doesnt exist to express possession.
In Spanish we use the word de instead.

Example: My fathers brother is my uncle.
o El hermano de mi padre es mi tio.
o Literally translates as The brother of my father is my uncle

Anas sister is pretty.
o La hermana de Ana es bonita.
o The sister of Ana is pretty.
Translate to Spanish
My aunts daughter is my cousin.

My uncles wife is my aunt.

My mothers mother is my grandmother

My mothers son is my brother.


Translate to English

La madre de mi padre es mi abuela.

El padre de mi prima es mi tio.

El padre de mi madre es mi abuelo.

La hija de mi hermano es mi sobrina


La madre + El padre = Los padres
La tia + El tio = los tios
El hermano + la hermana = los hermanos
La abuela + El abuelo = Los abuelos
El primo + la prima = los primos
All the relatives = Los parientes careful!

Note: to say cousins or parents or siblings we also
use the masculine plural.

If the word ends in a vowel we add s
If the word is masculine put the article los, if feminine
add las

If the word ends in a consonante add es

In English: is, are, am

In Spanish we have to conjugate verbs to make them
mean different things

I am = Yo soy We are = Nosotros Somos
You are = tu eres xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
He/she/it is = es They are, you all are = son
I = yo We = nosotros
You = tu
He= el
She =ella
You (formal) =usted
They (guys)= ellos
They (girls)=ellas
You all =ustedes
