LAST TIME OUT
Carter 2 Motorsports became a part of history Monday afternoon, as Katlynn Leer (Moulton, Iowa)
became the youngest female to ever race in the ARCA Racing Series. Although the team made history,
issues forced an early exit for both cars at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds.
The annual Labor Day Classic started well, as both cars quickly made it through technical inspection and
preparations began for the lone practice session. Both cars immediately hit the track to test the clay
1-mile ovals surface.
Roger Carter (Sunfeld, Mich.) and Leer made numerous circuits around the track. In the session, Leer had
a fast lap of 39.826 seconds, 25th fastest, while Carter had a best lap of 38.893 seconds, 23rd fastest.
Both drivers were optimistic for qualifying, as the clay racing surface began to rubber in. Leer recorded
a lap of 38.027 seconds, picking up almost two seconds from practice. This lap placed her 19th on the
starting grid. Carter picked up nearly one half second, recording a lap of 38.494 seconds, the 20th fastest
time.
At the drop of the green fag, Leer fell to the back to get used to track conditions with considerably more
drivers on track with her, while Roger quickly made his way to the front of the pack.
On lap 20, Carter reported under caution that the engine temperature quickly spiked, causing him to
bring the race car to the attention of the pit crew. The crew did everything they could to repair his #40
Dodge, but a broken radiator hose forced him to retire from the race. He was credited with fnishing 25th.
On lap 78, she entered too high into turns three and four, causing her #97 A & A Underground Construc-
tion/Stajcar Farms Dodge to lose grip, sending her into the outside retaining wall. The car sustained sig-
nifcant damage, forcing her to retire from the race. She fnished 23rd in her ARCA Racing Series debut.
We had a good day going for both cars, Roger Carter said of his teams performance. We (Carter) were
running 16th and moving forward in the 40. We broke a radiator hose and were several laps down after
that. So I just parked the car. Katlynn Leer did a fantastic job in the 97. She had some loose off issues and
the car got in the wall around lap 78. She did what she needed today. She earned a lot of respect. He
went on to state that he is excited to work with Leer later this season and into next season.
REEVES MAKING ARCA DEBUT THIS WEEKEND AT SALEM
The Salem Speedway is one of the premier tracks on the ARCA Racing Series. It takes a lot of racing
talent to make it around the 0.555-mile oval, and Josh Reeves thinks he has what it takes to race with the
best this weekend.
This is what Ive been working for and Ill be doing what I can to get through the feld Saturday night. We
plan to complete all laps and just go for it, Reeves said of his debut. Really thankful for those whove
went out of their way to make this Salem deal possible. You guys mean the world to me. It means so
much.
BE A PART OF HISTORY, SUPPORT THE U.S. CONSTITUTION AT KENTUCKY
For years, Carter 2 Motorsports owner and driver Roger Carter has been a strong advocate of supporting
and upholding the United States Constitution. On September 19, he plans to take that fght to the race
track.
I dont normally do stuff like this, I was encouraged to try it, Roger said of having a crowd funded car.
This Save the U.S. Constitution car is funded by businesses who love the United States of America. This
car is American loving, stand for our rights as United States citizens car, demonstrating that is county is
run by We The People! This cause is so important to me. So I feel I must. The current state of our country
is beyond scary. There is no time like the present to demand our rights back!
We built a new race car and have a good engine for the upcoming race at Kentucky Speedway next
month, Roger said of the racing machine that will be used. We feel we have a great shot at a Top 5
fnish.
Roger went on to say that each person who donates will get their name or business on the car. There are
multiple money amounts you are able to donate towards the cause. Donations range from $20 to $3000.

owner gave him an opportunity to drive his car. A champion-
ship, a ROY title, 8 victories, and 16 pole position awards later,
