Musketeers first visit of Duke of Buckingham to Paris.
1. Thursday morning dungeon/rescue
a. Replace Lammias ogres etc. with charmed guards and Captain
2. Thursday afternoon
a. Escort from off-ship in Calais to Paris
b. Ambush (real) by Cardinal Richelieu who views party as disposable
i. Efreeti and Janni
ii. Drow Scout (who will surrender rather than be slain)
iii. If Efreeti is surrounded he will barter a full Wish for his release. This is a trap
he will pervert the Wish to the full extent he is capable and then depart in
a flash of flame
c. Ben recognised by Buckingham
i. accused of being part of ambush or leaking route
evidence false confession from Drow Scout
ii. arrested by Comte de Rochefort ex-musketeer and fallen Paladin of
Pelor/Blackguard
iii. assassination attempt by Nighthag invading dreams when in prison. Party
must visit Arcanists Tower outside of City for required arcane magical item
to make them Ethereal and able to fight Nighthag when they guard Ben at
night
iv. trial including hired solicitors and social skills rolls
d.
3. Thursday Evening - Royal Ball (set for 14 days following arrival)
a. Party are there as guards not guests they are on duty.
b. Duke has his Succubus escort Summer flirt scandalously with King Louis this is to
make Queen Anne jealous and set the stage for his initial seduction of her.
c. Summer being introduced to the Cardinals (fabricated peerage) lady at court who
interrupts her introduction giving her name as Milady de Winter. King Louis finds
this amusing set stage for a verbal catfight between Succubus and Erinyes who
recognise each other for what they are
d. Cardinal recognises Martin as the son of a prominent Huguenot and speaks with him
e. Other notable figures at court:
i. Tymak, Mayor of Paris
ii. Lord Marakios Haxx
iii. Segemm (wealthy collectors)
iv. Lady Kathryn Sarcina (noted wealthy widow, beauty and wit)
v. Captain Treville
vi. Sir Ingish Blackhand
vii. Eldurin Aerina (up and coming noble)
viii. Macor (merchant deals with the Dwarves of the Alps)
ix. Maynard (metal/ore importers)
x. Clive Harrich (Harbormaster)
xi. Kiles (spice merchant)
xii. Furrownose Dieg (Halfling/Jewish elder)
xiii. Faustus (Halfling Warlock)
xiv. Nib (Halfling/Jew)
xv. Eligible ladies??? (Alan has highest Charisma?)
f. Fight with hooded, (hood is an illusion?) obviously female, figure who is in area of
palace (intent on King) where she should not be. Figure escapes by Dimension Door
if losing. This would be handy if the King could sire a bastard for later use (the chaos
of a civil war/royal pretender) but is essentially a diversion to get the guards/party
away from the Queen and Grazzt.
g. Need to link Summer into the cultist plot perhaps henchmen are peasants with
links to figure in tent city? A Speak with Dead perhaps cast by the Cardinal might
reveal this when the body is questioned?
4. Friday Cultist Plot
a. Tent City north of Paris (see Paris notes including leader who is not evil)
b. Infiltrating and Missionary Cultists
c. Buckinghams second

ii. Head Cultist is attempting to summon a Vrock.
5. Aftermath Party has come to the attention of the movers and shakers
a. Martin : as a known Huguenot/Pholtus (albeit lay) worshipper is of interest to
Richelieu so he indirectly invites the King to order an arranged marriage between
Martins character and Milady de Winter to insert a spy and assassin into the
Huguenot cause. Destroying the Huguenots will bring the nobility into line
underneath the King in a near perfect tyranny.
b. Alan : has caught attention of Queen?
c. Ben : has become known as an enemy agent to Buckingham.
