Equal number of males and females.

This means there is not gender bias, so the study is more

reliable.

I used opportunity sampling method, which means choosing participants randomly, if they are
opportune at that point of time and are available to answer some questions.
This explains why 30% of all my participants were in the first age group, under 16 18. These
students were opportune and available at that point of time.

My research shows that my participants from college mostly listen to electro music (which means
newest Djs etc) or every day hits. Also not a small number of students said that they listen to rock
music, which includes all the well-known old bands and the new ones (underground, local groups).
I also asked people who listen to electro music which Djs they like the most. I got some answers
which would be hard to put in the chart or graph, lots of different Djs. Students mentioned Calvin
Harris, Deadmau5, Tiesto, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, David Guetta and etc.
Other students which tend to listen to rock music mentioned groups like : Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses,
Nirvana, AC DC, Iron Maiden, Metallica but also local groups like Dying Breeds (4 guy group playing
punk rock music, based in North Walsham).

Asked a few questions if my participants read magazines, if yes which ones and are they digital or
paper ones. (Monthly)
As I was expecting the majority (4 people) read Electronic sound and 2 students read Kerrang!. These
results proves that my participants are interested into electronic music and rock music. Also 3
people read other magazines, not music ones.

This helps me to understand what kind of things people want to see in the magazine and what
colours should I use. The same with understanding what music they like. It helps me now, and it will
help me in the future with my music magazine.

This helps me with understanding what colour students expect to see on the college magazine.

This explains me what type of information students would be interested in. Might be interesting to
know what kind of job do not accept tattoos or piercings?..

I might want to use an animal as a background of the main image, so this is quite useful information.

The last question I asked was : Do you have any recommendations or expectations on a new college
magazine?

The very surprising answer I got was A MAP.
It seems like a college magazine should be orienteered to new students as well, which means college
is a big society and it is quite hard to find your way from one building to another, to cafes or student
union classroom.
