The Telephone: Creation

The telephone was invented in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell. It was originally intended to improve the telegraph. While others had conceived of similar ideas, Bell was officially granted the patent. In the late 19th century, telephones expanded across cities and saw a boom in users. Early phones were large and users had to shout. The 20th century brought major advancements like the dial phone and creation of AT&T. Mobile phones later emerged, starting with radios and evolving to cellular networks in the 1960s. Modern phones offer internet, apps, and touchscreens, connecting billions of users globally.
