ACTION

2. 100+ Club
• 100 club drawn
 First prize for June (£42.75) : no 63 – D Markham
 Second prize for June (£14.25) : no 68 – L Bunting
• 9 new members since Spring Fair
3. Financials and Funding Opportunities Jenny
• So far, Spring Fair and Fun Run have raised £2181,
plus the Year 2 plant money (this will be enhanced
by match-giving by Jim Ward’s employer)
• Current account holds about £8k at present, taking
into account the Spring Fair and Fun Run.
• Colour photocopier – School now have quote for 3
year lease. Meeting agreed to pay for this 3 year
lease – Kate to confirm details Kate
• Kate confirmed that School has identified the need
to put some more resource into the Foundation
stage. In addition, School would also like to enhance
the School library – a good job has been done
recently to improve it, but there is need for further
books and some more furniture. Kate to pull Kate
together details and costings.
• PTA also to consider funding the whiteboard on
order for Reception – to be confirmed once
photocopier funding arrangements sorted out.
4. Spring Fair Review
• Agreed to use up outstanding cream teas stuff for Rachel –
picnic after Sports Day, plus strawberries – strawberries
Sue/Nic to mention in Friday letter Sue/Nic
• Spring Fair and Fun Run both very successful –
special thanks to Rachel and Lisa, and also to
everyone else who helped, especially the Marshalls
and Kim Panting for being there for First Aid
• File being prepared providing base information on
the Fair and Fun Run for future years events
• Thank you letters being prepared for those
offering raffle prizes
• Great PR coverage was achieved – some really good
photos in the local press
• Thank you letter from Kate sent to PTA – the
meeting noted that this was much appreciated
• Thank you note to be included in the Parish Kate/Julie
magazine
5. Quiz Night Phil
• 41 tickets sold – Stepping Stones and CLOGS have
events on the same night, plus Year 5 arriving back
from IoW has meant that some School parents
don’t want to go out that evening, so numbers lower
than hoped for.
• Small raffle planned and ‘Heads and Tails’ (remind
parents to bring cash in Friday newsletter) Sue/Nic
• Julie to ask Clover Club to tidy up on Friday Julie
• Nic and Julie to set room up at 6pm on Friday Julie/Nic
• Julie to prepare forms for recording answers Julie
6. Summer Party Phil
• Good level of interest so far for this - July 13th at
Ardencote, starting at 7.30pm, finish 1am
• Tickets now available from Julie – all to sell All
• Mini auction (2 lots) and raffle planned – sell
tickets on night only – PTA members to sell/table
by entrance
• Decorations for room – balloons etc – limited cost Rachel & Sue
• Sue/Nic to include in Friday newsletter plus form Sue/Nic
requesting tickets
• Planning meeting Monday 2nd July, 8pm at Julie’s All
7. Date for next meeting:
• 7.30pm, Monday 9th July 2007 at School. All
8. Any other business:
• Sports Day refreshments– Wednesday 20th June – Lois/Sarah
Henley Ice-cream arranged; Family Picnic to be B/Rachel
held afterwards including cream tea &
strawberries
• Bags2School bags issued – collection date is 27th
June – collection arrangements to be the same as
last time – mention in Friday newsletter. More Sue/Nic
bags available in School office.
• 221 phones collected giving £300. 25 phones
without forms so we have requested vouchers that
can be donated to School. Mention this in Friday
newsletter. We will repeat this collection later in Sue/Nic
the year.
• Lisa raised question of whether there is anything
that can be done to spruce up the external
appearance of the School – playground, façade,
notices/signs etc. Kate advised that School is
currently thinking about external aspects. Meeting
suggested that volunteers could be found to do
painting etc. Agreed that overall plan is needed
for the outside of the School, linked into the
external area for Reception – Kate confirmed Kate
School is considering this. Jenny/Julie to
investigate records to find out who constructed Jenny/Julie
the Reception classroom canopy.
• Kate asked whether a PTA calendar for the year
could be prepared as soon as possible – it was
agreed that a draft could be produced but noted
that next years PTA committee may wish to amend Sue
it.
• Summer disco – provisional Tuesday 17th July (Phil Sue/Phil
to confirm) and agreed to hold in gazebo/on the
field or in the courtyard by Ruth’s garden, subject
to weather conditions
• Rachel raised the idea of having a story teller for a
day towards end of term in School – we have names
of a couple of people who do this. Kate to consider Kate
further but agreed with the principle.
